ON THE BENCH MICHAEL SCHWARTZ Associate Head Coach •Texas, 1999 • Fifth season at Tennessee; played two years under Barnes at Texas and was a member of the 1999 Big 12 Championship team (then became a GA on Texas’ staff). • In 2019, Schwartz earned feature placement on The Athletic’s list of the nation’s top 25 up-and-coming college basketball coaches. • Since the 2017-18 campaign, Schwartz has served as Tennessee’s “defensive coordinator • No stranger to the Southeast and East Coast, Schwartz spent six years on staff at Miami (Fla.) in the ACC.
