WHAT TO EXPECT ♦ BBL/Laser-treated hairs will still be visible / present after your treatment. However, they are now injured or destroyed at the level of the hair follicle (“root”) and will soon fall out (usually, within the next 2-5 days up to 2 weeks). ♦ The treated area may redden and/or swell somewhat. A mild sunburn sensation may be noticed for up to several hours after treatment. This is caused by the BBL/laser energy, and represents inflammation, and not infection. It is normal and expected part of healing process.

    ! ATOPIC DERMATITIS/ECZEMA Atopic dermatitis, also called eczema, is an itchy skin rash that comes and goes, sometimes for no apparent reason, often associated with allergies and asthma. There is no known cure for eczema. Good skin care and medications can help control the itch, and thus prevent or improve the rash. As children get older, eczema may improve. The key to eczema care is to moisturize frequently and target the itch. PREVENTION Moisturize the skin at least twice daily Eczema causes dry skin with subsequent itching and scratching. For some, this is worse during the winter when the heat is on. The colder it is outside, the drier the air inside will be. For others, the heat of summer is a trigger. To keep the skin in good condition, apply an unscented moisturizing cream or ointment (not lotion) twice daily. Creams are preferred over lotions as they have less additives (which means less stinging) and keep the skin more moist. The best time to apply the moisturizer is immediately after a bath or shower (ideally within 3 minutes of coming out of the bath). Note: if you are also using a steroid medicine, put it on before applying moisturizer. Suggestions: Eucerin™, Aveeno™, Aquaphor™, Vaseline™, Cetaphil™, Triple Cream for eczema™, Cerave™. For severe eczema: Use an ointment to seal in moisture, such as Vaseline™ or Aquaphor™. Ointments sting less than creams on irritated skin. Some things that may irritate your skin include household cleansers, detergents, aftershave lotions, soap, gasoline, turpentine and other solvents. Try to avoid contact with things that make you break out with eczema. Because soaps and wetness can cause skin irritation, wash your hands only when necessary, especially if you have eczema on your hands. Be sure to dry your hands completely after you wash them. Wear gloves to protect the skin on your hands. Wear vinyl or plastic gloves for work that requires you to have your hands in water. Also, wear gloves when hands will be exposed to anything that can irritate your skin. Wear cotton gloves under plastic gloves to soak up sweat from your hands. Take occasional breaks and remove your gloves to prevent a buildup of perspiration inside your gloves. Wear gloves when you go outside during the winter. Cold air and low humidity can dry your skin, and dryness can make your eczema worse. Wear clothes made of cotton or a cotton blend. Wool and some synthetic fabrics can irritate your skin. Most people with sensitive skin feel better in clothes made of cotton or a cotton blend. Care for your skin in the bath or shower. Bathe only with a mild soap, such as Dove, Basis or Oil of Olay. Use a small amount of soap when bathing. Keep the water temperature cool or warm, not hot. Soaking in the tub for a short time can be good for your skin because the skin’s outer layer can absorb water and become less dry.

This thesis examines the feasibility of creating a male cosmetic company. The objective of this report is to investigate solutions to the questions, “Could there truly be a market for male cosmetics, and if so, how do you promote cosmetic adoption across genders?” Beginning with a literature review examining the history of cosmetics through time, the changing social dynamics and drivers supporting the cosmetic industry’s expansion, and the existence of male cosmetic trends internationally, the groundwork is laid in support of validating the author’s predictions on shifting market trends. What follows is a feasibility assessment, presented in the format of a business plan, dissecting various cosmetic industries, potential markets, customer analyses, sales strategies, and financial planning.
