While most people hear about patches to Operating Systems, a software program can make your system just as vulnerable. You can research every program or app on your system individually, but luckily there are programs that will do most of the hard work for you. When you launch these programs they will search the internet for updates and usually give you a single click to download the related update. Most of these programs make their money through advertisements displayed on the program but they tend to be clearly distinguishable from the patch links.
