Welcome to the newly renovated and expanded Reif Center! Our $8 million renovation (which turned out to be an $11 million renovation) is nearing completion. We are especially proud that this facility uses all American steel; and that it is built to Minnesota’s exacting B-3 Standards for low energy use, water conservation, waste recycling, landscaping, and so much more. We are proud of the top notch union laborers that kept rolling through a number of “construction surprises.” Now, after more than a year “On-the Road,” we are back and better than ever! The doors are open! I can’t wait to usher you into the beautiful new, expanded Reif lobby with the welcoming fireplace, dramatic lights, and distinctive black ash walls (harvested and milled locally, and donated by John & Lisa Rajala). You will experience stunning performances in TWO venues; the upgraded and expanded 686-seat Wilcox Theater and the new 180-seat Ives Studio Theater. We are introducing a new customer-friendly ticketing system and extensive attention has been given to ensure that our facility is especially inviting for patrons in wheelchairs. The new Lakewood Cafe will be offering delightful treats during intermissions, and the many new lighting, AV, sound, seating, and technical upgrades guarantee a delightful performing arts experience. And that is what you have come for - a stimulating, once-in-a-lifetime performing arts experience. We have really gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure that THIS Grand Reopening Season is something you will remember. We decided not to limit ourselves to a single flagship “reopening event,” but rather we’ve extended the celebration over the WHOLE SEASON! Look who we have coming! We are bringing Wynonna Judd, , STOMP, , Vienna Choir Boys, and so much more! Even the Minnesota Orchestra is making a rare return visit. It is a season filled with stunning surprises - a fitting “welcome home to the Reif.” There is something for absolutely every taste and interest.
