The female on the left wears a head scarf and Description: has her hands on the other female's right shoulder. Her left leg is crossed over her right and she wears a three-quarter length skirt and short sleeved top. The female on the right wears long, flowing drapery and holds a lyre. Person or event commemorated:

History of Jenners was founded in 1837 by Charles Jenner and Charles Kennington. Their previous building was Commission destroyed by fire in 1892, and these premises were built to replace those. The style of architecture is : Free Renaissance. The female statues represent the various nations of Europe and America with which the firm had dealings.

In 1995, to coincide with the centenary of the building, restoration was started. The restoration and stabilisation work was carried out between May 1995 and December 1996. The architects were The Michael Laird Partnership; the stone consultant was Bob Heath; the sculpture conservator was Graciela Ainsworth and the contractor was Watson Stonecraft. David Lindsay (Stoneworks) recarved the strapwork and heraldic animals and birds on the balconies, and Bob Thomson recarved the pediment above the Princes Street entrance.

From left to right (S to N): (1) Semi-naked, left arm raised [missing]; (2) Description: clothed, both arms across her middle; (3) semi-naked, right arm raised [missing] and left arm [missing]; (4) and (5) both semi-naked, both arms raised above their heads; (6) and (7) a pair next to each other, both clothed. The one on the left (S.) has her left arm linked with the other caryatid's right arm. The latter has her left arm raised [missing]. (8) and (9) a pair: caryatid on left has left hand on other's right shoulder. Caryatid on right holds a palm frond. (10) and (11) a pair: caryatid on left has right arm raised [missing] and left arm linked with right arm of caryatid on right. [This pair is a mirror image of pair (6) and (7)]:- No.'s (6) and (11) have bare breasts and hold [?] in their outer arm ((6) right, (11) left). (12) and (13) are both clothed with both arms across their middle.
