The Red Shoes is a tale of obsession, possession and one girl's dream to be the greatest dancer in the world. Set to the achingly romantic music of golden-age Hollywood composer Bernard Herrmann, The Red Shoes is orchestrated by Terry Davies, with cinematic designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable and sound by Paul Groothuis. Directed by Ellen Kent and starring the fabulous Korean soprano Elena Dee and the celebrated international soprano Alyona Kistenyova, these two Puccini operas are not to be missed. The brand new production of La Bohème is traditionally staged and tells the tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer. Madama Butterfly returns in a new production with exquisite sets including a spectacular Japanese garden and fabulous costumes.
