Photo courtesy I’ve been skiing all my life, literally. Some of my earliest memories are of Shawnee Peak. sliding around my back yard on plastic skis strapped on my snow boots, my older brother lifting me out of the powder after especially good wrecks. I was soon shredding gloves on the local rope tow, and had my first terrifying ride on a t-bar when I was seven. I have never missed a year of skiing since, even if it meant hiking after hours for turns when I was a grad student with “Your children will no extra cash, or bushwhacking for those special back woods lines. I now share that passion with my seven-year-old son who will never remember ski as well as learning how to ski any more than learning to walk or talk. It’s just what you do for one day we do when there’s snow. To say I live to ski would be an exaggeration, but to live without skiing would not be an option. Whether it’s a midnight run in your life.
