  • South West Mens League Grand Final 2016 Online Programme Chairmans Notes Welcome to Launceston for the South West RL Grand Final 2016
South West Mens League Grand Final 2016 Online Programme Chairmans Notes Welcome to Launceston for the South West RL Grand Final 2016. There is no doubting the two sides competing today deserve to be in the final having both had fine seasons thus far. If the 2016 Challenge Cup Final is anything to go by we will be in for a cracking game today. The Rebels edged a thriller that day 28-26 in a game that could have gone either way. That was in stark contrast to last year’s Grand Final which saw Rebels run out emphatic 94-12 winners over Exeter Centurions. Unlike its sister league in the West of England the South West League has struggled in 2016 with a number of teams struggling to field teams consistently. There are a number of particular challenges the region faces such as geography and distance but both today’s finalists have shown with the right people at the helm. quality coaches and being active in the local community there is absolutely no reason why successful clubs cannot be sustainable in the South West. However, whilst there is much work to do in the off-season to build a viable rugby league competition in the South West today is about the two strongest teams in the region showcasing some of the great rugby league talent there is in the area. Good luck to both teams and thank you once again to everyone at Launceston for hosting once again. South West Mens League Grand Final Cornish Rebels v Devon Sharks Cornish Rebels Cornish Rebels RLFC started off 2016 with a bang.

  • Dear Finance Manager, We Write to You As a St Helens Based Business
President: Chairman: Vice-Chairman: Frank Tickle Phil Smith Jamie Barr Committee Delegate: Innes Arnold. Address: 2 Rainford Road, Dentons Green, St Helens, WA10 6BS. Phone: 07899677527. Email: [email protected] Dear Finance Manager, We write to you as a St Helens based business leader to gauge your appetite for associating your name with our Society. We aim to attract and develop individuals, often as young as twelve years old, to be courageous and responsible servants and facilitators of the game of rugby league which, in our town, is part of our shared culture – our community identity. But without a referee, there is no game. Unlike teams belonging to sports clubs, as an organisation of officials, we have no premises and cannot hold events nor raise funds from bar sales, and we do not qualify for funding from Sport England. Instead we exist thanks to our members’ annual subscriptions. If we want to buy match and training kit or equipment, we need to seek sponsorship from partners that would enjoy the comparatively high profile of being at the centre of attention for every key moment in every game played every weekend of the season. If you are interested in helping us buy match kit for 2018, and want your name on our match shirts and all training and leisure wear we buy from our own funds, please call Innes Arnold on 07899677527 or get in touch via the other details on this note. Thank you for taking the time to read this and the information overleaf. Innes Arnold St Helens Rugby League Referees Society Match Official, Committee Delegate
