Recently, Joe Zaffuto has claimed that he is the sole mastermind behind Devon-X. Zaffuto claims that if it weren’t for his coding skills, Devon-X would not exist; thus, he is the rightful owner. After hearing these claims, the campers from the robotics workshop that built Devon-X are retaliating. They have already taken ownership of Devon-X’s kidnapping and say that he is safe and hidden in a secret bunk er called X-14 but must stay hidden until Zaffuto neither admits that Devon-X is not his creation OR turns Devon-X fire suppression system back on so that Devon-X may continue to prevent Byfield from burning down. When defending their actions, Ben, one of the campers who helped build Devon-X says, “if it wasn’t for the time we gave to this project, and if it weren’t for our hands which built this cyborg, there would be no Devon-X.” Zaffuto refused to give up control of the cyborg, which resulted in an argument between himself and the campers from the robotics workshop. During this argument, Zaffuto lost hold of the remote that controlled Devon-X, causing it to smash into a million pieces. The destruction of the remote caused something that this reporter never thought they would ever see. No longer under the control of Zaffuto or the campers from the robotics workshop, Devon-X became self- aware. .
