Reading it Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You like being at her kitchen table with a glass of wine to hand. Daily Telegraph. Lynda Bellingham was a tremendously gifted storyteller with a rich collection of tales of love, loss and laughter and this memoir brings her kind heart, courage and emotion to the page in vivid detail. There's Something I've Been Dying To Tell You is a brave memoir about Lynda's battle with cancer, facing death she found joy and shared it with millions. Her story is an affecting and at times heart-breaking one but it is so often laugh-out-loud too and ultimately the way Lynda told her life story serves as a great inspiration to us all. Woven into this very moving and brave story are extraordinary, colourful tales of her acting and family life that will enlighten and entertain as well as the journey that Lynda has taken to find the family of her birth father having already suffered heartache in her search for her birth mother. In the search for her father's family, Lynda finds a family with a history in entertainment showing that acting was always in the blood. This book was written in Lynda's final months and revealed for the first time, and in great detail, her fight with cancer and how her life was transformed since her diagnosis. This edition includes a brand new chapter written by Lynda's husband Michael about his love for her, her love of life and her glorious final send-off. Please sign in to write a review. Daily Telegraph Lynda Bellingham was a tremendously gifted storyteller with a rich collection of tales of love, loss and laughter and this memoir brings her kind heart, courage and emotion to the page in vivid detail. Her brilliantly titled book, There's Something I've Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You Dying to Tell Youcharts the unravelling of that delusion, and her determination to wrest a meaningful life out of sudden chaos. Not just listening to the expletives of pain or the dawning of reality, but rooting for her when the treatment Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You to be working, sharing her fears as her life expectation dwindles, and rocking with laughter at the absurdities that go with having the "least sexy" cancer of them all. Her description of the mechanics of dealing with a stoma bag in the ladies' at Buckingham Palace, when she accepted her OBE in March, reads like a comedy script. The rest of us look on at these extraordinary people and wonder how we ourselves would manage. I am so grateful that such people are speaking out, now while they can. The strength shines through in the whole book and the honesty. A fantastic woman. It may Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You packed with heartfelt emotion, but don't expect to be wiping your eyes every time you turn the page - Lynda's cheeky humour is woven through every chapter. A very brave lady that could talk about her illness on TV etc. Reading the book was a very emotional journey for me, as I was Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You recovering from my own Cancer treatment. Lynda Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You very open and honest about her cancer journey. She talks about diagnosis, treatment, emotional and psychological effects, family etc. Anyone that has been affected by cancer in any way, will know what a roller coaster journey cancer is. Lynda shows strength and determination - an inspiration to others. Very sad that she didn't survive the journey. Sadly, Lynda Bellingham is no longer with us. Here, Lynda shares with us her journey and battles with colon cancer, which naturally are extremely moving at times, but Lynda being Lynda, there are also many moments of laughter and humour, as well as those moments that she hangs Theres Something Ive Been Dying to Tell You, those moments to treasure. It was a battle well fought but sadly lost. The chapter where she writes her goodbye letters to her husband and sons was particularly hard to read. There is also an additional chapter in th Sadly, Lynda Bellingham is no longer with us. There is also an additional chapter in this particular edition, written after Lynda's passing by her husband Michael which of course was deeply moving but a tribute to a lovely popular lady. issue 41 winter 2014/15 waving not drowning the newsletter for carers and parents of disabled children who work or wish to work Lynda Bellingham No one worked harder than Lynda, who sadly died aged 66 in October this year. In recent times she toured constantly with Calendar Girls , appeared live on Loose Women and recorded character roles in a variety of TV dramas – often all in the same month. And yet she never turned down a request for help from the charities which were close to her heart. Working Families was one such and she was one of our Vice Patrons for many, many years. I well remember the day she fitted in recording our BBC Radio 4 Appeal before heading off to perform in a matinee of Calendar Girls in the West End. Always the consummate professional, she knocked off our script in a couple of ‘takes’ whilst adding her own personal experience as a working Mum with the utmost of ease. No slouch in her private life, either, she was a good friend to many, a great hostess and an attentive mother. Even in her last months when her own ability to eat was limited, she cooked delicious meals for her family. I knew her through the difficult times with her second husband, Nuncio, and was so pleased to see her happy with her third, Michael, whom she married on her 60th birthday. What a day that was! She arrived in the church on the arms of two close friends – Christopher Biggins and Nickolas Grace! She first met Nickolas on her first day at the Central School of Speech and Drama and the required stints in rep, in TV soaps and on stage followed.

Hull History Centre: Records relating to the Hull New Theatre L DTNT Records relating to the Hull New Theatre 1939- 2008 Historical Background: The New Theatre which stands on Kingston Square, Hull, opened on the 16th of October 1939 with the Hull Repertory Company production of 'Me and My Girl'. Peppino Santangelo came to the city in 1924 to join the Hull Repertory Company based at the Little Theatre in Kingston Square. After turning the struggling company around, Peppino, organised the reconstruction of the former Assembly Rooms which had first been built by R. H. Sharp over 100 years earlier in 1834 into the New Theatre. Not even the outbreak of the Second World War could halt Peppino’s dream and as the theatre’s first manager, he told crowds of 1939: ‘I have made plans for your future entertainment, always bearing in mind that we are at war and that laughter and not tears should be the dominant feature.’ Performances continued throughout the war when West End productions arrived to escape the bombing in London. The theatre bar was reinforced as a bomb shelter and the building received only one direct hit, in May 1941, which destroyed the front row of stalls and all the props and costumes of the visiting Sadler’s Wells Opera Company. In the late 1960s the Theatre's stage was deepened and the orchestra pit enlarged, whilst at the same time the auditorium was improved with new seating. The theatre closed in January 2016 to undergo a huge £15.9m revamp of the venue, which would see improvements to backstage areas including a new fly tower, used for scenery, lighting and stage effects, a larger stage, and more seating.
