USI is a comfortable drive from the major metropolitan centers of Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville, Nashville, and St. Louis. The Campus The Nursing and Health Professions Center, Science and Wright Administra- tion Building, the Education Center, and the Orr Center are located on the north side of campus. Rice Library, the University Center, the Liberal Arts Center, the Technology Center, and the Business and Engineering Center, now under con- struction, form the quadrangle in the center of campus. The Physical Activities Center and the Recreation and Fitness Center, which is getting a substantial addition, are located east of the University Boulevard, a major thoroughfare through campus. Apartment buildings and residence halls are home to 3,000 students who live on campus. Academic Life The University enrolls 9,939 students and offers undergraduate majors in 70 areas of study. An ever-increasing number of post-graduate programs also are available to students who wish to continue their education. Opportunities are available for service learning, study abroad, and internships. Campus Life Outside the classroom, students have opportunities to participate in more than 90 organizations offering co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Special interest clubs, student government, sororities and fraternities, music and drama groups, and other organizations enable the students to enjoy and contribute to campus life. Residence Life The more than 3,000 students living on campus have their choice of two types of housing. Students can live in standard apartments or in suite- style housing in residence halls which have amenities such as Internet connections, wireless Internet, and cable television. Computer labs, laundromats, a convenience store, outdoor and indoor recreation areas, and student lounges contribute to an efficient living environment that has proven to be overwhelmingly popular to students. Meal plans also are available at the University Center, which is located in the center of campus. Financial Assistance USI provides families with an affordable way to higher education. While some families find that they can handle the cost of a USI education with- out financial assistance, others qualify for need-based financial pack- ages, including grants, loans, and on-campus jobs. 2008 Men’s Soccer Media Guide www.usi.edu/sports 2008 USI Men’s Soccer The University of Southern Indiana men’s soccer team is MIDFIELDERS: looking to do the same thing in 2008 that it did in 2007 – The Eagles are led in the midfield by sophomore Michael double its wins from the previous year. KLUGE, Plaintiff, vs. BROWNSBURG COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION, Defendant. No. 1:19-cv-2462-JMS-DLP July 12, 2021, Filed July 12, 2021, Decided BNA Headnotes FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES SUMMARY [1] Religious Accommodation An evangelical Christian teacher wasn’t denied a reasonable religious accommodation when an Indiana public school district forced him to resign after rescinding an agreement that allowed him to avoid using transgender students’ preferred first names and pronouns by referring to all students in his classes by their last names, a federal court in Indiana ruled. The teacher’s refusal to comply with a new transgender name- and-pronoun-use policy made the transgender students feel dehumanized and uncomfortable and imposed an undue hardship on the district’s obligation to educate all of its students, the court said. The school district further established undue hardship by its evidence that it risked potential lawsuits and liability under Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments Act if it permitted the teacher to continue to flout the name- and-pronoun-use policy, the court said. © 2021 The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.
