The programme is accredited by the Industrial Cadets (IC) for a silver award. 22 schools have already taken part in this successful programme and Jacobs are looking to engage with as many school as possible across Tees Valley. The programme runs within the school holiday period and helps students understand how engineering fits into real life. They have the opportunity to experience a variety of disciplines in the industry as well as learning about project management, presentation skills, and are given information around routes into apprenticeships or university. Beverley Schools Enterprise Adviser Janine Armstrong (CIPD) arranged the Careers Fair for the school. Employers and training providers were invited to talk to students about their industry and the career opportunities available to them. Companies that attended were Topps Tiles, Jury’s Inn, EE, Marks & Spencer, James Cook NHS, ESPA College, Flexi Training and Nigel Carden from SENDIAS. Parents were also invited to attend the event as well as other SEND schools where they took along a small group of students from KTS Academy, Priory Woods and Kirkleatham Hall.
