ChALC Focus

Speeding Survey Follow Up Following our Survey of local councils to ascertain how important an issue speeding vehicles are, and two very well attended follow-up meetings we held with member councils, we have now opened a very constructive dialogue with John Dwyer the new Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire and his officers. John Dwyer is keen to engage with ChALC to understand the issues of concern across Cheshire and how he can best support communities. We think that some real progress might be made in the coming months and will keep you all informed as we hopefully start to see new options and possibilities being considered. If you want to contribute further in the meantime please contact Councillor Steve Jones via ChALC who will be happy to discuss your thoughts and ideas with you.

Town and Parish Council Connections: Cheshire Archives Online Event 7th July at 6pm Join Paul Newman and Lisa Greenhalgh from Cheshire Archives and Local Studies for an introduction to the Archives service and how it serves local councils and Cheshire residents. Paul and Lisa will also give an overview of the service’s proposed project – Cheshire’s archives: a story shared - to relocate the service to new ‘history centres’ in Chester and Crewe. To register your interest in attending this online meeting email [email protected] by Tuesday 6 July 2021. A join the meeting link will then follow.
