In 2005 a Class Environmental Assessment identified on-site treatment and discharge to the Jock River as the preferred method to manage leachate generated at the Trail Road Landfill. The City will proceed with a full on- site leachate treatment facility and discharge to Jock River solution. The system will be designed for implementation as a full surface water discharge quality process upon completion. It is anticipated the full scale treatment process will consist of multiple trains to Green Yellow Green Red Green accommodate varying loads. CP000112 Kanata South Link(Hope Newcombe, Implementation 34,765,814 The Kanata South Link involves the widening of Old Richmond Road from Hope Side Road to West Hunt Club including two-lane Nov-2020 Side to Hwy 416) Carolyn roundabouts at Hope Side, Stonehaven and West Hunt Club, to create road capacity while minimizing the impact on the Greenbelt lands, Stony Swamp Conservation Area and wetlands. Widening of West Hunt Club between Old Richmond Road and Highway 416 will be included as well as West Hunt Club at Moodie Drive intersection modification/widening where signals are specified to reduce impacts on adjacent wetland. Compensation upgrades to improve wetland on Federal Lands are being done under separate Green Green Green Green Green contract that began in winter 2020, it has been substantially completed on October 7, 2020 and it will be finally completed by spring 2021. CP000121 Trail Facility Stage 2 Final Beauregard, Implementation 5,782,000 Design and install a final cover on Stage 2 of the Trail Road Landfill, which has an area of 12-hectares. Jun-2019 Cover Marc The placement of waste in Stage 1 has been completed and the construction of a final cover system is ongoing and will be completed in the fall 2016. The placement of waste within Stage 2 of the landfill is nearing its capacity. Construction of the final cover system for Stage 2 is to start in spring 2018 and completion will be required by fall 2018. Green Green Green Green Green This project consists of the design and construction of the Final Cover System for Stage 2, MOECC application/approval for a cover system design variance, and any modifications and/or additions to the landfill gas collection system located on Stage 2. CP000284 Manotick Watermain & Lyons, Julie Implementation 18,745,400 New watermain to provide increased capacity and reliability of drinking water supply across the Rideau River to the Barrhaven South Oct-2021 North Island Links community, and to a lesser degree, the Riverside South Community. The Phase 1 Manotick watermain link (MWL) involves a 610 millimetres diameter watermain along River Road from the Riverside South Community to a crossing of the Rideau River at Walter Upton-Collins Park to David Bartlett Park on Long Island. The North Green Green Green Yellow Green Island link (NIL) will connect the south end of the Phase 1 MWL at the park to the existing watermain on Rideau Valley Drive at Barnsdale Road. The Council has directed staffs to consider roundabout as one of the possible alternative traffic control measures at newly warranted intersections. A functional design study of this intersection was conducted to determine the most appropriate control type (signal or roundabout) to be used and the network modifications required to support the appropriate control type. This study was completed earlier this year in April. Red Green Green Green Green Based on the evaluation criteria used to assess the two proposed intersection control options, the roundabout design ranked higher in terms of safety improvements, site access, utility impacts, land requirements, and costs. As a result, installation of a single lane roundabout was identified as the preferred option for this intersection. CP000360 Storm Sewer Rehab: 4th Stoddard, Implementation 668,000 During an extreme weather event in 2017, the Village of North Gower experienced widespread surface flooding. After the event, the Nov-2020 Line/Steven Creek Steven City inspected the existing road catch basins and storm sewers in Fourth Line Rd. As a result of these inspections, the storm sewer outfall section to Stevens Creek in Fourth Line Rd. north of Community Way was identified in need for rehabilitation. The outlet of the sewer at Stevens Creek is submerged for most of the year. The objective of the project is to rehabilitate the existing outfall section of the storm sewer on Fourth Line and the corresponding Green Green Green Green Green outlet into Stevens Creek to improve the performance of this sewer section. CP000393 Small Culvert Replace: 13 Delaney, Kyle Implementation 1,730,000 Thirteen small culverts in the west end of the city have been identified for repair/replacement. These culverts are generally in ‘poor’ Oct-2020 Rural West condition and programmed for end-of-service-life replacement based on a risk and criticality assessment to prevent failure and ensure public safety and replacement in coordination with the road resurfacing programs.
