CAROLINA HURRICANES NEWS CLIPPINGS • June 24, 2021 NHL Mock Draft 2021: From the Sabres through the Cup winner, Corey Pronman picks the entire first round By Corey Pronman The message out of Columbus is they need centers but once Seth Jones is dealt they will need centers and defensemen. We’re a month from Buffalo being on the clock so it’s time to Edvinsson, Hughes and McTavish are the names people start discussing how I think the first round of the 2021 NHL around the league think could be the pick at No. 5 with Draft will actually go. This mock will be 31 picks deep and Edvinsson being the one I’ve heard mentioned the most. there will be a longer one closer to the draft date. 6. Detroit Red Wings: Mason McTavish, C, Peterborough- This mock is less “intel” based, given a lot of teams haven’t OHL had meetings yet to put together their lists. The mock will discuss certain picks and how they blend with that specific McTavish is the name I’ve heard the most with Detroit early team, but readers should also use this exercise to get an in the mock draft season but team sources have also said idea of roughly what players I think will go at what range, and they think goalie Jesper Wallstedt or Michigan forward Kent what options their team could be looking at. This is not my Johnson could be the pick here too. An interesting thing with opinion of the players in the draft class. Those along with full this pick is both Johnson and William Eklund face questions reports can be found here.

The research explores whether integration governs agency problems and tilts the incentives of diverse actors toward more systematic outcomes. Design/methodology/approach – A two stage multimethod case study of occupational health services. A qualitative stage aimed to understand the reasons, mechanisms, and outcomes of payor–provider integration. A quantitative stage evaluated the performance of the integrated hospital against fee-for-service partner hospitals with a sample of 2,726 patients. Findings – Payor–provider integration mitigates agency problems on multiple levels of the service system by complementing formal governance mechanisms with informal mechanisms. Compared to partner hospitals, the integrated hospital yielded 9% lower the total costs of occupational injuries achieved primarily by emphasizing conservative care and faster recovery. Research limitations/implications – Focuses on occupational health services in Finland. Provides initial evidence of the effects of payor–provider integration on the operational performance. Practical implications – Vertical integration may provide systematic outcomes but requires mindful implementation of multiple mechanisms.

One of the most interesting concepts is the integrated production of pulp and paper products and transportation fuels. The Finnish and Swedish activities are aiming to the same objective increased profitability of pulp and paper industry by using their by-products for producing high- quality renewable fuels. The technical approaches are different. For the technologies the scientific co-operation in the R & D consortium of VTT-ETC-LTU-SINTEF created background know- how through experiments and modelling in NORDSYNGAS project realised between 2010–2014. The objective of the project was to create new scientific knowledge on fluidised-bed and entrained- flow gasification of biomass residues and black liquor in order to support the Nordic industrial development and demonstration projects. In addition, close co-operation between the Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian R&D organisations was organised. DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.

  • The Nature of Lucian's Revision of the Text Of
THE NATURE OF LUCIAN’S REVISION OF THE TEXT OF GREEK JOB Claude E. Cox It is an honour to offer this study to our friend Raija Sollamo. We have been together at several IOSCS meetings, where Canadian schol- ars always feel a special affinity towards our Finnish colleagues who specialize in the Septuagint: Ilmari Soisalon-Soininen, Anneli, Raija, Seppo, and Anssi. We feel this affinity because Finland and Canada are both northern countries—we know what winter really is like!—and we are relatively small in terms of population. Though Canada is a very large country, our population is not large compared to our southern neighbours, the United States and Mexico, much like Finland in rela- tion to Europe to the south and Russia to the east. Finally, Canadians and Finns share a love of hockey and when we meet at international competitions it is with a mutual love of the game; further, some of our favourite NHL players are Finnish in origin: Teemu Selänne, Jari Kurri, Miikka Kiprusoff, Saku Koivu, and Esa Tikkanen, to name a few. The purpose of this study is at least two-fold: first, to demonstrate that the text that Lucian worked on for the book of Iob was a Hexaplaric text; second, to show that the Lucianic revision of Iob is in keeping with Lucian’s work that we know from elsewhere. So the task to be undertaken is simple, even if the subject of Lucian and his revision of the Greek Bible is highly complex. Lucian and Lucianic Iob The single most informative introduction to the work of Lucian is that of Natalio Fernández Marcos.1 It begins with a few remarks about Lucian and relates that he was probably born in Samosata, Syria, about 250 c.e., studied in Edessa and Caesarea, eventually founded 1 The Septuagint in Context: Introduction to the Greek Versions of the Bible (tr.

  • Goal Prevention 2004 a Review of Goaltending and Team Defense Including a Study of the Quality of ’
Goal Prevention 2004 a review of goaltending and team defense including a study of the quality of a hockey ’shots allowed Copyright Alan Ryder 2004 Goal Prevention 2004 Page 2 Introduction I recently completed an assessment of “”in the NHL for the 2002-03 “”season (http://www.HockeyAnalytics.com/Research.htm). That study revealed that the quality of shots allowed varied significantly from team to team and was not well correlated with the number of shots allowed on goal. The consequence of that study was an improved ability to assess the goal prevention performance of teams and their goaltenders. This paper applies the same methods to the analysis of the 2003-04 “”season, focusing more on the results than the method. Shot Quality In summary, the approach used to assess the quality of shots allowed by a team is: 1. Collect, from NHL game event logs, the relevant data on each shot. 2. Analyze the goal probabilities for each shooting circumstance. In my analysis I separated certain “”from “”shots and studied the probability of a goal given the shot type, the ’distance and the on-ice situation (power play vs other). 3. Build a model of goal probabilities that relies on the measured circumstance. 4. Apply the model to the shot data for the defensive team in question for the season. For each shot, determine its goal probability. 5. Determine Expected Goals: EG = the sum of the goal probabilities for each shot. 6. Neutralize the variation in the number of shots on goal by calculating Normalized Expected Goals (NEG) = EG x League Average Shots / Shots 7.
