Junior offensive tackle Ben Villanova has played 13 overtime games and in those 13 contests are 9-4. WINNING WITH WHITNEY: Junior quarterback Chris Whitney will be making his 16th career start when Villanova opens up the 2009 season at Temple. In his 15 career starts, Whitney has guided the Wildcats to an 11- 4 mark. Whitney has never lost to an opponent with a sub-500 record and all four of his losses have come against teams ranked in the Top 15 nationally. For his career, Whitney has completed 179-of-274 for 2,064 yards to go with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He has also rushed for 567 yards on 202 carries and six scores.

CHECK THE PROGRAM: Three Villanova starters have changed their uniform number this season. Senior linebacker Osayi Osunde has switched from No. 91 to No. 23, junior defensive back Fred Maldonado went from No. 39 to No. 2 and sophomore wideout Norman White changed from No. 87 to No. 8.

ROSTER ADDITION: Villanova added a player two weeks into pre-sea- son camp when freshman linebacker Angel Clybourn transferred in from the University of Cincinnati. The 6-1, 220 pound Clybourn will be eligible to play for the Wildcats immediately. He is expected to be a reserve at linebacker. Clybourn is a native of Mays Landing, N.J. and a graduate of the Blair Academy.
