Major joins the 49ers after spending the last Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team nine years as an assistant coach to Thad Matta at Ohio State (6 years) and Xavier (3 years). In Chris Braswell those nine years, Major enjoyed seven NCAA Tournament trips. Tech (#33); at URI (#40) ; at Dayton (#51) In the last nine years, Alan Major has been to seven NCAA Tournaments, including three Sweet 49ers received votes for 7 weeks; defeated 2 top 20 teams. 16’s and one NCAA National Championship game. At Ohio State, he was part of a staff that reached the 2007 NCAA title game and the 2010 Sweet 16 (and also won the 2008 NIT Champi- onship). At Xavier, he helped the Musketeers to the 2004 Elite Eight, while going to three NCAA 2010-11 Charlotte 49ers Schedule Tournaments in three seasons.
