NATIONAL CONFERENCE Advance your career through continuing nursing education delivered by nationally recognized perianesthesia leaders, network with your colleagues, and enjoy the attractions of a major U.S. city each year. Recent venues have included: Orlando, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC, Chicago, and Philadelphia.

SEMINARS ASPAN provides a variety of one-day programs that are offered throughout the country and cover the latest topics in perianesthesia care, which will help keep you on top of your profession.

CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION CONTACT HOURS ASPAN is an accredited provider of continuing nursing education. Contact hours can be earned through a variety of educational offerings, including the National Conference, seminars, and select articles in the Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing (JoPAN). ASPAN is also an accredited approver of continuing nursing education. Organizations can apply for contact hours for their educational activities.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ASPAN scholarships are available exclusively to members and help support those who wish to advance their education and contribute to the perianesthesia nursing community. Current scholarships provide funding for: > A BSN, MSN, or Doctorate in Nursing degree > Attendance at ASPAN’s National Conference > CPAN® or CAPA® certification exam fees > Humanitarian missions > The Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) program > Registration for the International Conference for PeriAnesthesia Nurses

RESEARCH GRANTS PROGRAM From the novice to the experienced researcher, qualified ASPAN members may apply for research grants to support their research interests. COMPONENTS Components are state (and, in a few cases, regional) organizations chartered by ASPAN to serve the needs of members at the state and local levels. You may join as many components as you like, though most members join the component representing the state/region in which they live. (Note: Active, Retired, and Student membership categories require you to join at least one component when joining ASPAN.)

ONLINE FORUMS The forums are designed to encourage networking and the exchange of ideas, interests, and emerging information within the perianesthesia community. The range of topics is extensive and currently covers approximately forty major categories of interest.

SPECIALTY PRACTICE GROUPS (SPGs) SPGs are member-driven groups that focus on a specific area within perianesthesia practice. Current SPGs include: Advanced Degree, Geriatric, Informatics, Management, Pain Management, Pediatric, Perianesthesia , Preoperative Assessment, and Publications.

CLINICAL PRACTICE NETWORK Members and nonmembers can submit questions to the ASPAN clinical practice network.
