FC BARCELONA Futbol Club Barcelona also known as FC Barcelona and familiarly as Barça, is a professional football club, based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English and Catalan footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto "Més que un club" (More than a club). It is the world's second-richest football club in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of €398 million (2011). The unique feature of the club is that unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. Jack Greenwell was the first fulltime club manager from 1917 to 1924 under which club grabbed 6 tournament honors. -

(2016) ‘Videogames in the museum: participation, possibility and play in curating meaningful visitor experiences’, Paper presented at Association of Art Historians 2016 Annual Conference and Bookfair, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, 7-9 April 2016. Videogames in the Museum: Participation, possibility and play in curating meaningful visitor experiences. Professor Gregor White Head of School of Arts, Media and Computer Games, Abertay University, Dundee, UK Email: [email protected] Lynn Parker Programme Leader, Computer Arts, Abertay University, Dundee, UK Email: [email protected] Keywords Videogames, games design, curators, museums, exhibition, agency, participation, rules, play, possibility space, co-creation, meaning-making Abstract In 2014 Videogames in the Museum [1] engaged with creative practitioners, games designers, curators and museums professionals to debate and explore the challenges of collecting and exhibiting videogames and games design. Discussions around authorship in games and games development, the transformative effect of the gallery on the cultural reception and significance of videogames led to the exploration of participatory modes and playful experiences that might more effectively expose the designer’s intent and enhance the nature of our experience as visitors and players. In proposing a participatory mode for the exhibition of videogames this article suggests an approach to exhibition and event design that attempts to resolve tensions between traditions of passive consumption of curated collections and active participation in meaning making using theoretical models from games analysis and criticism and the conceit of game and museum spaces as analogous rules based environments. -

Futsal Rules
FUTSAL GUIDE INTRODUCTION TO FUTSAL FUTSAL was first played in 1885. Roger Grain in Montevideo, Uruguay defined the modern standard set of rules in 1932. FUTSAL’s essential elements consist of five players a side on a basketball size court with a variety of surfaces using a no-bounce ball. The sport is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, fast thinking, and pinpoint passing. The no-bounce ball requires players to propel the ball using skill and the proper technique, rather than rely on the bounce of the ball. The priority in FUTSAL is to motivate players in a safe environment conducive to learning. The more pleasure kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. While their instinct to play is natural, their affection and appreciation for FUTSAL must be cultivated. FUTSAL is a great developer of such skills as: x Stop and go x Ball control x Quick feet x Dribbling x Shooting skill and power x Strategy and tactics x Individual and team play x Fair play FUTSAL: x Allows players numerous opportunities to frequently touch the one "toy" on the field, namely, the ball. x Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often. x Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending). x Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom. x Eliminates complicated rules such as offsides that may hinder youngsters from "playing" and learning. x Allows the game to be the teacher! In Latin America and many countries in Europe, FUTSAL is second only to soccer as the most played sport. -

Media Value in Football Season 2014/15
MERIT report on Media Value in Football Season 2014/15 Summary - Main results Authors: Pedro García del Barrio Director Académico de MERIT social value Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) Bruno Montoro Ferreiro Analista de MERIT social value Asier López de Foronda López Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona) With the collaboration of: Josep Maria Espina Serra (UIC Barcelona) Arnau Raventós Gascón (UIC Barcelona) Ignacio Fernández Ponsin (UIC Barcelona) www.meritsocialvalue.com 2 Presentation MERIT (Methodology for the Evaluation and Rating of Intangible Talent) is part of an academic project with vast applications in the field of business and company management. This methodology has proved to be useful in measuring the economic value of intangible talent in professional sport and in other entertainment industries. In our estimations – and in the elaboration of the rankings – two elements are taken into consideration: popularity (degree of interest aroused between the fans and the general public) and media value (the level of attention that the mass media pays). The calculations may be made at specific points in time during a season, or accumulating the news generated during a particular period: weeks, months, years, etc. Additionally, the homogeneity amongst the measurements allows for a comparison of the media value status of individuals, teams, institutions, etc. Together with the measurements and rankings, our database allows us to conduct analyses on a wide variety of economic and business problems: estimates of the market value (or “fair value”) of players’ transfer fees; calculation of the brand value of individuals, teams and leagues; valuation of the economic return from alliances between sponsors; image rights contracts of athletes and teams; and a great deal more. -
