２ Training Facilities ① Hokkaido University of Education The Hokkaido University of Education Iwamizawa Campus specializes in the fields of sports and arts. They have specialized Iwamizawa Campus Daisan Gymnasium facilities and staff to meet the needs of Adapted Sports. They have teamed with the city of Iwamizawa to promote training camps for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games.

Hokkaido Greenland Amusement Park
If there’s one defining recreational spot in Iwamizawa, this is it. The grounds of the Hokkaido 21st Century Exhibition that was held in 1986 were inherited as they were and made into an amusement park.
Boasting such rides as the tallest Ferris wheel in Hokkaido at 85m high and the longest roller coaster, `GO-ON`, at a total length of 1500m, the park is home to 46 kinds of large-scale attractions. In addition, the park holds fun events such as the annual hero/heroine show and the summertime fireworks show where 5000 firecrackers light up the night sky.
Saika Festival （July）
The rose and iris summer festival. In Iwamizawa’s rose garden, in addition to being able to appreciate the common and rugosa roses, an outdoor tea ceremony and koto music are also performed. In the city, the dance parade, various street performances and all sorts of other events are held. In the Hokkaido Greenland Amusement Park, the annual fireworks show takes place, and in Ayame Park, the 12,000 lustrous bluish-purple common and Japanese irises blossom in all their glory to delight their onlookers.
Hyappei Festival （September）
Started in 1983 by several volunteers as part of a city revitalization project, this festival uses Iwamizawa local specialty rice. Watching participants work together to raise the 200kg pestle and drop it into the colossal special mortar (2.1m diameter, 4t in weight) to pound out the large sack of mochi (sticky rice cake) in the city center is very exciting. The mochi that is made is distributed to the participants and spectators.

Local Iwamizawa Rice and Onions
In Iwamizawa, the green plains of Hokkaido, we put our heart and souls into cultivating rice that is “delicious and happy” as well as kind to nature. Iwamizawa is also one of the leading producers of onions in Hokkaido. Please taste the rice and onions produced in Iwamizawa, from the land that nurtures life.
Local Iwamizawa “Kitanokaori” autumn-sown wheat
This autumn-sown wheat gets its name from being the most delicious and fragrant. Apart from being known for its high yield, it is characteristically suitable for the making of such foods as bread and ramen. It is also growing in popularity as an ingredient to make foods such as pasta and udon. Although it is a difficult variety to cultivate, JA Iwamizawa is working to be a main production area for it.
Iwamizawa Kiji Ramen “Pheasant bone soup, Kitanokaori wheat noodles” A long time ago, pheasants were often seen hopping around Iwamizawa and were so familiar to its inhabitants that there are place names that retain their (the pheasant’s) name to this day. Using pheasants carefully raised at the Iwamizawa Social Welfare Corporation Seikyuen, and locally-produced Kitanokaori wheat, we present fragrant, refined-tasting cold-dried style ramen. Iwamizawa Liquor ～Junmai sake, wine, Japanese squash shochu～
■ Junmai sake ‘Yuamisawa’ ～ Junmai liquor that uses JA Iwamizawa-produced `suisei` (comet) rice, perfect for brewing, to yield a delicious, full-bodied junmai sake. ■ Iwamizawa Wine ～ Iwamizawa wine is wine that has been brewed with fruit harvested from fruit tree growers in Iwamizawa`s Moyocho where the temperature gap is quite large. ■ Japanese squash shochu ‘Nansui’ ～ Local shochu brewed using JA Iwamizawa-produced Junmai Sake Wine Japanese squash squash as a base, as well as JA Iwamizawa-produced malted rice. shochu

Travel and Accommodation Expense Support
We subsidize part of the cost of training camps. ■Participants Athletes （max. ２０ people); instructors, staff, coaches, directors (max. 10 people) ■Travel Expenses We subsidize travel expenses for domestic travel within Japan. ＊For example: airfare between Tokyo (Haneda)⇔Sapporo (New Chitose). ＊Maximum travel subsidy is 35,000 JPY/person. ■Lodging Expenses We subsidize accommodation expenses for lodging in or outside of the city. ＊Maximum accommodation subsidy is 5,000 JPY/person/night, up to 9 nights.

We provide buses for team travel. We can also arrange rental cars.
