STORE SALES CONTINUE AT TATTERSALLS IRELAND The Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale gets underway today, with the two-day sale following a new format of a session of select stores today, followed by the non-select session tomorrow. The 2019 renewal, which was held over three days, had 837 catalogued horses and achieved a top price of €80,000 for a Moanmore Stables-consigned Davidoff full-brother to the Gordon Elliott-trained Abacadabras, winner of last season’s Gr.1 Future Champions Hurdle at Punchestown and a Gr.1 runner-up three times. Already named Texxas, the gelding was bought by Monbeg Stables. Monbeg was the leading purchaser, paying €201,000 for eight lots, while Stroud Coleman Bloodstock spent a total of €119,500 on seven purchases. The leading consignors by aggregate were Peter Nolan Bloodstock, which sold 24 lots for €185,900, and Moanmore Stables, whose two sold horses netted €112,000. The consignors over the next two days are headed numerically by Peter Nolan Bloodstock (18 lots), Glen Stables (14), Ennel Bloodstock (11) and Ballincurrig House Stud (9).
