Program Description: Established as a formal program in 2005, the public history program at American University is a concentration within the MA and Ph.D. programs. The program admits ten to fifteen students a year and graduates the same number. Approximately one hundred students have graduated. Students can take courses in arts management (non-profit management for cultural institutions); historical archeology; filmmaking, digital storytelling, and digital gaming through affiliated programs on campus.
