One of its associated trough extends to Assam across west Bengal and Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay. Forecast: Light to moderate rain/T.showers accompanied by tempo. gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Chittagong, Barisal, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur & Khulna divisions. Next 24 hours The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, the Ganges-Padma and the rivers around Dhaka are likely to fall. The Meghna is likely to remain steady. The flood situation in Manikganj, Munshiganj, Faridpur, Rajbari, Sariatpur, Madaripur, Kushtia, Jessore, Satkhira is likely to improve further while the flood situation in Netrokona, Sylhet and Moulvi Bazar is likely to deteriorate further. Water is decreasing as the DC has opened few sluice gates as well as absence of continuous rainfall. The situation is improving. Due to heavy rainfall and water logging, 8,26,124 people of 1,95,562 families have been affected in these 66 unions and 2 puroshovas. 25,440 acres crops fully and 18,205 acres partially, 528 km road fully (paka-144 km, muddy-384 km) and 1018 km partially (paka-280 km and muddy-738 km), 30 educational institutes fully and 533 partially, 5.08 km embankment fully and 82 km partially have been damaged. 22,854 families have taken shelter into 280 shelters. Approximate 10500 families of two upazilas have been affected. But the low land areas of 31 unions of Keshobpur, Monirampur, Avoynagar and Jhikorgacha were water logged due to recent heavy rainfall. Due to water logging 5330 hectares crops partially damaged. 259 families into 2 shelters in Keshobpur upazilla and 260 people into 2 shelters of Monirampur upazilla took shelter. Due to heavy rainfall 51,750 families were water logged in Narail district. 3670 houses fully and 19180 houses partially, crops of approximately 7607 acre have been damaged. Moreover 16 educational institutes are affected. Few adjacent areas of Bangali river have been inundated due to increased water. Situation improved as there was no rainfall but due to rise of level water entered in these areas again. 115 hectares of cultivable land, 19,250 members of 4350 families have been affected due to water logging and river erosion. 1050 families became water logged. No relief materials have been distributed.
