A big up-grade is necessary to have all radios in proper working order. He plans to return to both Churches within the next week. We will keep you informed. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS: Do you know one of my favourite old songs is, ‘Count Your Blessings’? It reminds us that no matter what our problems might be, we still have a lot to be thankful for. I was reminded of this when I came across a man who had two wooden legs. Among his blessings he numbered the ability to keep up his socks with drawing pins! Do you ever stop to count your blessings? EMPTY RELIGION: ‘I used to be concerned about religion’ said a foreign professor to Henry Drummond, ‘but religion is a great subject, and I was busy, and there was little time to settle it for myself: so I became a Catholic, and instead of dabbling any longer in religion myself, I just left it to the Church to do everything for me. Once a year I go to Mass’. Never forget that a religion that does nothing, that gives nothing, that costs nothing, that suffers nothing – is worth nothing. We must nourish our faith and our religion. MOTORIST’S PRAYER: This weekend right across the world, prayers are made and offered for all those who have died through road accidents. Our own Parish knows only too well the pain of such loss. May all who have died through road accidents rest gently in the loving care of our Loving God. May all those who are still affected and wounded by these deaths be blessed and touched by the grace and compassion of God. Here is the Motorist’s Prayer which we could pray on a regular basis before setting out on our journeys: Grand me a steady hand and watchful eye that no one shall be hurt when I pass by, Thou gavest life, and I pray no act of mine may take away or mar that gift of thine. Shelter those, dear Jesus, who bear me company from the evils of fire and all calamity. Teach me to use my car for others’ need, nor miss through love of speed the beauties of Thy world; that thus I may with joy and courtesy go on my way. BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATIONS: I was honored and deeply touched to have experienced such lovely celebrations in the past few weeks – I.C.A. Mass and hospitality in the Marian Hall and the Altar Servers party and celebrations in Listowel and Knockanure Active Retired Mass and superb dinner. This is a magic Parish – thank you for all your love, support and wonderful hospitality. I enjoyed all the celebrations. Thanks. DIOCESAN PASTORAL PLAN: Malton Hotel, , Mon Nov 23rd @ 8pm. All welcome.
