HOW TO TAKE A SCREENSHOT

(WINDOWS PC Users)

To capture a screenshot:

1. While viewing the content displayed on your computer screen, press Print Screen or PrtSc . ( Print Screen is usually near the top-right of a keyboard.) This takes a screenshot of your whole screen, even if you don’t see it happening.

**Tip: Take a screenshot of the entire browser window, including the address bar, unless NPF staff asks for something different. Seeing the whole browser can give us useful context about the issue.

2. Open either Paint or 3D by opening the search box next to the and entering paint. Then, follow the steps below for the selected application:

Microsoft Paint:

(1) When Microsoft Paint opens, press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into Paint.

(2) Open the File menu and select Save as.

(3) Name the file, select .JPEG or .PNG as the file format, and save the file to your desktop.

(4) Follow the steps below to send us the screenshot.

Microsoft Paint 3D:

(1) When Paint 3D opens, click the toolbar dropdown and select 2D shapes.

(2) Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot into Paint 3D.

(3) Open the File menu in the top-left and select Save as.

(4) Click 2D - PNG or 2D - JPEG.

(5) Name the file and save the file to your desktop.

(6) Follow the steps below to send us the screenshot.

NOTE: If you're using or Windows 7, you can use the built-in (Located in: Start > Accessories > Snipping Tool).

Attach the screenshot to an e- message:

1. Compose a new e-mail message in your preferred e-mail client (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, etc.)

2. Attach the screenshot to your e-mail message

a. In most e-mail clients, you can attach an image by selecting a paperclip icon or a button labeled as “Attach” or “Insert” but options may vary.

b. You may be prompted to find the saved image file in your computer’s directory. Once located, select the image file to load/ attach to your e-mail message.

3. Provide a short explanation of the issue you have encountered

4. Once finished, send to [email protected]

5. Please allow at least 2 business days for NPF Registry staff to reply to your e-mail.
