PS4 Controller Connecting your PlayStation 4 (DualShock 4) Controller to your PC Computer First you will need to install the PlayStation controller driver (DS4Windows) for PC: 1. Go to https://github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases and download the latest version of the DS4Windows driver to your PC. 2. Install the DS4Windows driver by locating the .zip file that downloads, right-click on it and select ‘Extract All…’ 3. Choose a destination to extract the folder - Either your downloads folder where the .zip file was downloaded, or somewhere else on your PC 4. Once the files have been extracted the destination folder will open, and you'll see two files. One, DS4Updater.exe, is a program that will keep the DS4Windows program updated with the latest drivers, so it's worth running this file if you encounter problems later. 5. Double-click the second file, DS4Windows.exe, to begin the setup procedure that will get the PS4 DualShock Controller working on your PC. 6. When you launch DS4Windows for the first time you'll be asked where you want your settings and profiles to be saved – we'd recommend using the default selection of 'Appdata'. 7. A new window will open. Click 'Install the DS4 Driver' to enable you to use the PS4 DualShock controller in Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. If you have Windows 7 or older then you'll need to click on 'Install 360 Driver' as well. Then you will have to unpair the DualShock 4 controller from your PlayStation 4: 1. Turn on your PlayStation 4. 2. Select ‘Settings’ from the menu. 3. Select 'Devices'. 4. Select ‘Bluetooth Devices’. 5. Select ‘DualShock 4’. 6. Select ‘Disconnect’. Then you can pair the DualShock 4 controller with your PC: 1. Press and hold both the PS button and the Share button on the DualShock 4 to put it into pairing mode. 2. The controller light on top of the controller will flash when it's in pairing mode. 3. Next open up the Bluetooth settings on your PC. In Windows 10, click on the speech bubble icon in the Taskbar at the bottom-right corner of your screen. This opens up the Action Centre – from there click 'Bluetooth' and then select 'Wireless Controller'. 4. You may be asked to enter a pair code – if so type in 0000. 5. Controller light will remain lit solid once connected 6. Once the REMDR window is open, press the PS button and controller should vibrate once to indicate successful connection. .

Latest Gaming Console 1 1. INTRODUCTION Gaming consoles are one of the best digital entertainment media now available. Gaming consoles were designed for the sole purpose of playing electronic games. A gaming console is a highly specialised piece of hardware that has rapidly evolved since its inception incorporating all the latest advancements in processor technology, memory, graphics, and sound among others to give the gamer the ultimate gaming experience. A console is a command line interface where the personal computer game's settings and variables can be edited while the game is running. But a Gaming Console is an interactive entertainment computer or electronic device that produces a video display signal which can be used with a display device to display a video game. The term "video game console" is used to distinguish a machine designed for consumers to buy and use solely for playing video games from a personal computer, which has many other functions, or arcade machines, which are designed for businesses that buy and then charge others to play. 1.1. Why are games so popular? The answer to this question is to be found in real life. Essentially, most people spend much of their time playing games of some kind or another like making it through traffic lights before they turn red, attempting to catch the train or bus before it leaves, completing the crossword, or answering the questions correctly on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire before the contestants. Office politics forms a continuous, real-life strategy game which many people play, whether they want to or not, with player- definable goals such as ³increase salary to next level´, ³become the boss´, ³score points off a rival colleague and beat them to that promotion´ or ³get a better job elsewhere´.

Anywhere, Anydevice Gaming Siddharth Singh, Soh Chor Kiong Ricky, Adrian David Cheok Human Interface Technology Laboratory Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering National University of Singapore, Singapore fg0202382,eng00673,[email protected] ABSTRACT This poster describes a multi-player networked Pong game that can be played in real-time on mobile devices and sta- tionary PCs. Through this game we intend to explore the realm of the next generation of games which, we believe, will incorporate elements of mobility, multiple connectiv- ity methods and playability on different types of devices. The system comprises the Sony-Ericsson P800 phone, a cen- tral game server, and personal computers. The client-server model has been used so that all interaction is done through the game server. The server can host multiple games at the same time. Each game has two players and a number of spectators who can view the game. The spectators can in- teract with each other using text messages. The Pong game is not the end to itself. This work is the core of an ongo- ing research project on multiple platform, multiple player mobile entertainment. Buonocore A Thesis in the field of Sustainability for the Degree of Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies Harvard University November 2016 Copyright 2016 Cathryn E. Buonocor Abstract This study examines and compares the environmental footprint of video game distribution on last generation consoles, current generation consoles and personal computers (PC). Two different methods of delivery are compared on each platform: traditional retail on optical discs and digital downloads in the U.S. Downloading content has been growing and is used to distribute movies, music, books and video games. This technology may change the environmental footprint of entertainment media. Previous studies on books, music, movies and television shows found that digital methods of distribution reduced emissions. However, prior research on video games, looking only at previous generation consoles, found the opposite conclusion.

Chapter 5 FORENSIC ANALYSIS OF A PLAYSTATION 3 CONSOLE Scott Conrad, Greg Dorn and Philip Craiger Abstract The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a powerful gaming console that sup- ports Internet-related activities, local file storage and the playing of Blu-ray movies. The PS3 also allows users to partition and install a secondary operating system on the hard drive. This “desktop-like” func- tionality along with the encryption of the primary hard drive containing the gaming software raises significant issues related to the forensic anal- ysis of PS3 systems. This paper discusses the PS3 architecture and behavior, and provides recommendations for conducting forensic inves- tigations of PS3 systems. Keywords: Sony PlayStation 3, gaming console, forensic analysis 1. Introduction The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) hit the Japanese and North American retail markets in November 2006 (March 2007 in Europe) [13].
