Committed to fostering the Palace’s success, the Board of Directors is currently working on a new three-year Strategic Business Plan, which will chart out the artistic, organizational, and financial goals for the theater. Focusing on expanded arts and educational programming, marketing, capital projects, and financial development, the objective of the plan is to continue expanding our current entertainment initiatives and ensure financial sustainability and growth for the Palace for years to come. Artistic success and economic stability help us provide a welcoming stage for both local and national arts groups. While we consistently seek out top-tier productions and popular artists, we also look to foster the next generation of talent, through our partnership with the Waterbury Arts Magnet Schools and our own educational programs. As the arts grow, so do the surrounding communities. The Palace Theater is proud to serve the geographical communities of not only Greater Waterbury, but also much of New Haven, Litchfield and Fairfield Counties. In addition, we serve the statewide artistic community, with our dedication to providing the highest quality entertainment on our Main Stage and in our Poli Club. After a summer spent sprucing up our interior, upgrading our security system, and working on new programming, we are excited to bring you this amazing season of stories, music, and magic. Building on the success of last year’s season, we are delighted to present a six-show series this year, including an eight- performance run of The Book of Mormon in April. I hope you will enjoy each unique and entertaining production – there is something for every kind of musical theater enthusiast. All shows are fueled by stories of some kind, and we have some fun ones to bring you this season. From a heartwarming visit to the North Pole in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to the razzle-dazzle of Chicago’s prohibition-era criminal world, this season’s musicals will transport you around the world, and home again. The Palace is more than a presenter of musicals – we also bring in great music from a wide variety of popular artists. Next weekend, Delbert McClinton will grace our stage with his signature Rhythm & Blues sound. In November, we feature Legends of Country Rock featuring Poco, Pure Prairie League, & Firefall, followed by the iconic Bob Dylan in his second appearance on the Palace Theater’s stage (the first was in 1975)! Melco Crown Entertainment For the financial year ended 30 June 2014, Crown Resorts announced a net profit of $702.5 million before significant items, 19/ which was up 43.1% on the prior year. Crown Aspinall’s and Australia’s leading integrated resorts, Crown Melbourne and Crown Perth, have improved their performance in the second Other Investments half to deliver earnings growth, despite a challenging domestic environment. The main contributor to Crown’s improved performance this year was our investment in Melco Crown Entertainment (MCE) in Macau. MCE delivered strong earnings 20/ growth and Crown received its first dividends from MCE, which totalled $94.4 million for the year. Crown Sydney For our shareholders, a final dividend of 19 cents per share, franked to 50%, was declared, bringing the total dividend for the 22/ year to 37 cents per share. The Crown Board has adopted a revised dividend policy. The revised dividend policy is to pay an Sustainability annual dividend of the higher of 37 cents per share and 65% of normalised NPAT (excluding profits from associates but including dividends received from associates), subject to the company’s financial position.
