This edition simplified for novices in the art. Contemporary boards. Spine perished, covers detached, spotting and offsetting, some marginal soiling, else a very good copy. Westwood & Satchell p. 104-5 for the first and early editions of “The Gentleman Angler.” $375 very rare (as are the earlier editions), the only other copy we were able to locate being in the British Library. The editor describes this edition: “I have omitted all superfluous niceties, descriptions and opinions of the ancients, choosing to come immediately to the point and treat such things only as will instruct a young beginner and improve those who have made some progress in the art of angling” (Preface). There are also instructions in digging a pond, both fresh and salt water fist and 8 pages of recipes for cooking fish, including pickling salmon, cooking eel after the Italian manner, pike with a pudding in its belly, dressing perch after the Dutch manner, also a pickled mushroom recipe. first aid for drowning, hanging and lightning, uncut 7. Abstract This thesis contains a detailed academic analysis of the complete rise and fall of Christopher Skase and his Qintex group mirage. It uses David Harvey’s ‘Condition of Postmodernity’ to locate the collapse within the Australian political economic context of the period (1974-1989). It does so in order to answer questions about why and how the mirage developed, why and how it failed, and why Skase became the scapegoat for the Australian corporate excesses of the 1980s. I take a multi-disciplinary approach and consider corporate collapse, corporate regulation and the role of accounting, and corporate deviance.     THE “RENAULT” BUSINESS AND THE VISIT OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN TRADE FROM FRANCE, CHARLES DE CHAMBRUN (1966) Antoaneta Laura SAVA Abstract: Because the representatives of the “Renault” and “Volkswagen” companies did not show any interest, in the period 1973–1976, for a collaboration in the direction expected by the authorities from Bucharest, Nicolae Ceauşescu agreed on the prime minister Manea Mănescu signing a contract and several industrial and financial collaboration agreements, with the purpose of producing, at Craiova, under French licence, the models “Citroën Visa Spécial” and “Citroën Visa Club” (called in Romania, “Oltcit Special” and “Oltcit Club”). Meanwhile, the collaboration of Romania with “Renault” National Administration continued according to the intentions expressed by the prime minister Raymond Barre and Manea Mănescu in Paris (the 17th of December 1976), and the Romanian-French agreement concluded in the summer of 1978 (Bucharest, the 12th of June 1978), having the purpose to certify the continuation of “Dacia 1300” production, along with certain subsets, electric engines, dashboard instruments and components for the machines used in the car industry from Romania.     10 Isabelle Levesque Atlantic Salmon Fly Tying from past to present Without pretending to be an historian, I can state that the evolution of salmon flies has been known for over two hundred years. Over that time, and long before, many changes have come to the art of fly tying; the materials, tools, and techniques we use today are not what our predecessors used. In order to understand the modern art, a fly tier ought to know a bit of the evolution and history of line fishing, fly fishing, and the art of tying a fly. Without going into too much detail, here is a brief overview of the evolution and the art of angling and fly tying. I will start by separating the evolution of fly tying into three categories: fly fishing, the Victorian era, and the contemporary era. Historians claim that the first scriptures on flies were from Dame Juliana Berners’s Book of Saint Albans (1486), which incorporated an earlier work, A Treatise of Fishing with an Angle. The Benedictine nun wrote on outdoor recreation, the origin of artificial flies, and fly-fishing equipment. This book was updated in 1496 with additional fishing techniques. In the early 1500s, a Spanish author by the name of Fernando Basurto promoted fishing among sportsmen with hisLittle Treatise on Fishing; but the first masterpiece of English literature on fishing wasThe Compleat Angler by Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton, published in 1653. Walton was a passionate fisherman who wanted to promote fishing as an activity in communion with nature. Unlike modern books about fishing, Walton’s did not specify equipment or techniques to use in particular fishing situations.
