This was a month-long celebration that included a feast that would seem to last a century. Two additional events that would also be happening during this time were festivals held for Juvenalia, a feast honoring the children of Rome, along with the birthday of Mithra, the God of the untouchable sun. By celebrating Christmas during the period of time that the festivals were held, religious leaders hoped their version of this holiday would be more openly embraced. However, it continued, by many, to be celebrated with lots of food, drinks, and partying. This holiday has a lot of history that is important, but it's your choosing of how you wish to celebrate it.
