The Sunday School families at St John's of Lattingtown recently planted two small fir trees in the garden of the Church Rectory. The trees had been in the children's chapel during the Christmas season. Interim Rector, the Rev. Thomas Orso, held a blessing of the trees attended by adults and children following the Sunday service. As the children played in the snow and made s'mores over the fire pit, pizza, soup and hot chocolate were served. Hay bales were used for seating. The Rectory is being refurbished in preparation for a new rector. The search committee has recommended four candidates and the Vestry will interview and call the next rector sometime in the Spring.
