PLASTIC SURGEON PETER LOUGHEED CENTRE

The Department of , Health Services – Zone, invite applications for a Plastic Surgeon with expertise in Upper Extremity Surgery

Qualifications include an MD, Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of , and a minimum one year of post residency fellowship training in upper extremity surgery, including hand, wrist, peripheral nerve, and distal forearm surgery. Applicants must also be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta. The successful applicant will have operating time and an outpatient hand clinic at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC). They will join a team of plastic surgeons that provide all aspects of plastic surgery coverage for the , including call coverage according to the needs of the site and the zone. The planned start date is January 4, 2021.

The successful candidate will become a member of the Section of Plastic Surgery and is expected to work in a collaborative manner to advance patient care and quality improvement. Experience and interest in clinical research, innovation in plastic surgery and the optimization of virtual care is preferred. Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, as it pertains to plastic surgery and upper extremity surgery, would be an asset. Appointment to the Cumming School of Medicine, will be expected. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. The successful candidate is expected to teach and evaluate residents and medical students in various settings including clinical encounters, surgical procedures, didactic lectures, seminars, and surgical simulation.
