Tennis is a sport for life, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. Tennis NSW is the governing body for the sport of tennis in NSW, with the primary purpose to foster a love of tennis in every NSW community and to inspire, empower and engage the NSW tennis family to help grow the game.

Tennis NSW is the largest of the eight State and Territory Member Associations and currently supports 511 Clubs, Associations and Court Operators and over 100,000 registered participants.

About the ATP Cup Sydney

Debuting in 2020 as the world’s most exciting and innovative new tennis tournament, ATP Cup brings together the sport’s best players competing as a team with their countrymen.

Held in three Australian cities - , and Sydney - 24 countries are allocated into six groups of four for round-robin play. The six group winners and two best second-placed teams advance to the Final Eight knockout stage held in Sydney over the 10 day event. Tennis NSW CEO & General Manager ATP Cup Sydney

This senior executive position has a dual responsibility managing this significant peak State Sport Organisation to advance the interests of tennis throughout NSW, while also fulfilling the role of General Manager ATP Cup Sydney.

Accountable to the Board of Tennis NSW and the Head of Major Events at Tennis Australia (TA) for the ATP Cup, the Tennis NSW CEO and General Manager ATP Cup Sydney will take full responsibility for:

• reviewing and implementing the Tennis NSW Strategic Plan • overseeing the day to day management of this sport business • building strong relationships with all stakeholders • leading negotiations with key State Government officials • leadership and strong direction of a committed team of staff • acting as General Manager for the ATP Cup Sydney

To be considered for this role you will need to be a dynamic leader, with the ability to connect, inspire and work collaboratively with a wide range of key stakeholders and staff.

You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to shape forward planning to ensure delivery of high quality and meaningful services and programs for members and fans. You will be commercially savvy able to leverage the successful delivery of the ATP Cup Sydney to inspire participation growth in tennis throughout NSW.

You will be experienced in brand or product activation with a record of building strong customer engagement and loyalty. Prior experience working with a Board of Directors will be required as will experience working with Government and Government Agencies.

As a skilled and engaging leader, you will have a reputation for finding innovative solutions to complex, dynamic and challenging situations including those related to stakeholder management. Your ability to make informed decisions while operating under pressure and against deadlines, will be regarded as a strength.

While candidates with prior experience in a comparable CEO role will be highly regarded, we are also open to considering those candidates ready to apply the experience gained from a similarly scaled leadership role. Prior experience in the delivery of a major event will be highly regarded as will experience in a membership-based organisation. A background in the sport of tennis is not necessary, however you must have a strong understanding and empathy for grassroots and community sport.
