CALL FOR SPECIAL ELECTION REFERENDUM Pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Baldwin, Georgia dated June 28, 2021, and said resolution being on file in the minutes of the City of Baldwin but also as follow: WHEREAS, the City of Baldwin, Georgia has adopted a Resolution of the City of Baldwin pursuant to the Georgia Constitution, the Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section § 3-4-41, as amended by Senate Bill 145;

Notice is hereby given that the City of Baldwin, Georgia, will hold a Special Referendum Election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not the governing authority of the City of Baldwin, Georgia shall be authorized to issue licenses for the package sale of distilled spirits within the City limits of the City of Baldwin.

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with the O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, the City of Baldwin, Georgia will hold a special election on November 2, 2021, for the purpose of submitting to the voters the following questions for approval or rejection.

The referendum ballot, pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 3-4-42, shall have written and printed theron as follows:

YOU WILL VOTE “YES” OR “NO” ON THE FOLLOWING QUESTION: “Shall the issuance of licenses for the package sale of distilled spirits be approved?”

( ) YES ( ) NO

Those desiring to vote in favor of the issuance of licenses shall vote “Yes”. Those desiring to vote against the issuance of the licenses shall vote “No”. The last day to register to vote in the November 2, 2021 Special Election is October 4, 2021. Absentee ballots by mail will be available beginning October 12, 2021 at the Office of Elections & Registration, 130 Jacob’s Way, Suite 101, Clarkesville, Georgia 30523. Early Voting shall begin on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, and continue until October 22, 2021, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and shall be done at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center. Saturday Voting will be held on October 16, 2021 and October 23, 2021 at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center, hours being 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Advance Voting Week shall be October 25 – 29, 2021, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., at the Habersham North and Habersham South Precincts. Election Day voting will be held November 2, 2021 at the City of Baldwin Precinct, located at the Baldwin City Hall, 186 Highway 441 By-Pass, Baldwin, Georgia 30511, from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. ONLY REGISTERED VOTERS WHO LIVE INSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF BALDWIN, GEORGIA ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN THIS SPECIAL ELECTION.
