From the Pastor:

Today, we welcome Bernard (Ned) Schlesinger to St. Peter Chanel to preside at our 10:45AM Sunday Mass. Bishop Ned is the Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. In his capacity as our Auxiliary Bishop, he assists Archbishop Gregory with the pastoral and administrative needs of the Archdiocese. Because we are a large diocese, just presiding at the Confirmation celebrations for all the parishes (we have over 100 parishes) is a monumental task.

We are very happy that Bishop Ned is able to join us for Mass today, Sunday. If you are unable to meet him this Sunday, our Men’s Club is hosting their annual Cajun Dinner, with Bishop Ned as their special guest. The Cajun Dinner is Thursday, February 1st at 7PM. Only downside is this event is for the MEN of the parish only.

Stay warm and see you at Mass,

We extend a warm welcome to the following families who have chosen St. Peter Chanel as their parish family.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Blanchard Mr. Charles Morris Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cardea Mrs. Mary Smith Mr. and Mrs. Brian Craig & family Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Valencia & family Mr. and Mrs. Scott Keilman & family Mr. Matthew Vogel

The event will be held in the Parish Hall immediately following the 12:15 pm Mass. Reservations are required. Welcome back GIFT families! Today’s Gospel describes how the first disciples were willing to drop everything in order to make Jesus and the Kingdom of God the most important things in their lives. For many of us, it is not easy to drop everything to respond to the needs of another. How might our life change if we understood the Kingdom of God to be as important and immediate in our lives?
