This means that the Albert algebra A may be described as the group 3 algebra F[Z3], with “twisted” multiplication

In this talk, the classification of fine gradings on the Albert algebra will be reviewed, and it will be shown that σ above can be chosen in a very symmetrical and simple form, which appeared for the first time in work of Griess (1990).
The gradings on the simple Lie algebra of type F4 are all induced from gradings on the Albert algebra. They have been classified over algebraically closed fields of characteristic not two in joint work with M. Kochetov.
