Domestic equities ended the day in negative mood with CROBEX declining 0.59% to 1,841.90 pts while blue chip CROBEX10 dipped 1.10% to 1,050.77 pts. Regular stock turnover amounted to HRK 12.2 million.

Polymer and petrochemicals producer Dioki (DIOKRA CZ) topped the liquidity board collecting HRK 1.6 million in turnover while price rocketed 12.43% to HRK 27.4 after new speculations about financial restructuring and possible takeover from privately-held gas trader Crodux Plin.

Tobacco and tourism Adris group preferred share (ADRSPA CZ) was also in investors’ focus with HRK 1.6 million in turnover while price -10,0% -5,0% 0,0% 5,0% 10,0% 15,0% DIOK-R-A declined 1.35% to HRK 290.0. 500,000 people live off SMEs, says minister About 200,000 people work in small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) and when one adds their families, close to half a million people live off SMEs, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister Gordan Maras said in parliament on Wednesday presenting a new SME bill. About 83,000 SMEs employ about 105,000 people, which means that about 200,000 people work in this sector, he said, adding that about 50,000 SMEs folded because of the economic crisis. The government-sponsored bill is expected to bring security and make the position of SMEs easier. Under the bill, it will not be possible to seize the house or the flat in which an SME owner lives in order to collect a debt, and SME premises will also be exempt from foreclosure. Until now, an SME's owner entire property could be confiscated. If an SME folds, the owner will have the same rights at the Employment Service as all other job seekers. The bill also envisages a reform of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts. (Source: daily.tportal.hr)

Croatian tourism minister meets with Ukrainian tour operators

Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin met with Ukrainian tour operators in Kiev on Wednesday, saying that upon returning to he would talk with Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic about measures to further improve visa issuance, the Tourism Ministry said. Lorencin was accompanied by Croatian Tourist Board and Foreign Ministry officials. Marko Peric of the Foreign Ministry said 3,500 visa applications for Croatia had been filed at the embassy in Kiev this year, with increased interest in the last two weeks and about 100 applications daily. Ninety-six tourist agencies are accredited with the Croatian Embassy in Kiev and final talks are under way with a company which will open visa centres in Ukraine in July, said Peric. He recalled that the Croatian government recently passed a decision under which foreigners

with Schengen residence permits and visas need no additional visa for Croatia. Lorencin said Ukraine was among the 20 most important tourist- 8,0 generating markets for Croatia. He and Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Vidosevic invited tour operators to cooperate. The minister visited Moscow 7,0 for the same reasons on Tuesday. (Source: daily.tportal.hr)
