Access to Experts Teresa Lin Program Director, China CFO Council The Conference Board Teresa Lin was the DBS Bank Group’s Senior Adviser in 2010 and was the Vice Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of DBS Bank (China) Limited from 2007-2010. Her key priorities were to develop an integrated banking business and to grow the DBS franchise in China/North Asia. Lin was the Chairman of the China Management Committee and a member of DBS Bank Group Management Committee. Lin joined DBS in 2001 as Head of Enterprise Banking in Hong Kong and led the growth of the small and medium enterprise portfolio with customer-focused trade and equipment finance services. Under her leadership, Enterprise Banking business experienced significant growth in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. Lin has extensive experience in the banking and financial industry in the region. Prior to joining DBS Bank, Lin held senior positions at financial institutions including Dao Heng Bank, Dah Sing Bank, Citibank and HSBC. She was managing director of Citicorp Commercial Finance (HK) Ltd in 1991, then as Head of Citibank’s Emerging Local Corporate business from 1996. Lin was instrumental to the planning, strategizing, pilot-testing of the Global Emerging Local Corporates Business (Citi business) in Citibank. In 2007 She joined Dah Sing Bank as the Senior Executive Director and managed their Commercial Banking Division before joining DBS. Since 1991, Lin has held executive positions in numerous advisory and consultative committees in Hong Kong and China: In The Finance Houses of Hong Kong and as Chairman of The Hong Kong Equipment Leasing Association. In Government appointments, she was a committee member of the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee (SMEC) of the Trade and Industry Department of Hong Kong SAR Government and held services from 2003-2008. She contributed to the development of the Government Guarantee Scheme for SMEs. Lin was appointed by the HKSAR Government as Vice Chairman of the Banking Industry Training Advisory Committee (ITAC) of the Education and Manpower Bureau and Chairman of the Education and Training Sub=committee. She was also Advisor to the Small and Medium Size Enterprises Sub-committee of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Hong Kong till August 2007. In her service in China, she was nominated executive committee member of the Local Bank Association in China (2007- 2009) and the Vice Chairman of its Foreign Banks Working Committee. While in China, she served as a member of the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council and Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council to facilitate trade and investments from Singapore to China. In June 2011 she was appointed Honorary Advisor of The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers. On retirement from banking, she turned to philanthropy and Consultancy. She is the Executive Director of L plus H Community Interest Company Ltd., to create jobs in Hong Kong and Executive Director of We R Family Foundation Ltd., a charity foundation to support the under-privileged children in after school tutorship. She is a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co from 2012, with special focus on SME, Leasing Companies, China Strategy, and Risk Management.
