LISA HENSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BIOGRAPHY As Co-Chief Executive Officer of The Jim Henson Company where she oversees all television and feature film production from early development through post-production, Lisa Henson also serves as Executive Producer of SID THE SCIENCE KID, premiering September 1, 2008 on PBS KIDS®. For The Jim Henson Company, Henson has produced “Frances”, an upcoming animated series; “Unstable Fables”, a collection of direct to DVD animated features from The Weinstein Company; “Pajanimals”, a puppet musical series for PBS KIDS Sprout, and “Muppets Wizard of Oz” for ABC Television. Feature credits include the family film “Good Boy!” and the fantasy adventure “MirrorMask”. Projects in current development include Edward Gorey's "Doubtful Guest," Neil Gaiman's “Neverwhere," "Power of the Dark Crystal" and "Fraggle Rock." In addition to executive producing 40 episodes of SID THE SCIENCE KID, Henson is also currently executive producing "The Skrumps," the Company's new animated production featured exclusively at Yahoo! Kids. Prior to joining The Jim Henson Company in 2000, Henson worked for fifteen years as a film executive, including several years as President of Production at Columbia Pictures and as an executive at Warner Bros. Henson graduated in 1983 with a degree in folklore and mythology from Harvard University, where she was the first female President of "The Harvard Lampoon." She has previously served on the Board of Overseers for Harvard University, Tibet House and The Jim Henson Foundation for Puppetry. She currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the UCLA Lab School and on the Board of Directors for the InnerKids Foundation. ### SID THE SCIENCE KID is a new educational animated television series using comedy to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among preschoolers. This landmark production of 40 half-hour episodes, co-produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET/Los Angeles for PBS KIDS®, debuts on September 1, 2008, as part of the popular PBS KIDS preschool destination, the hosted two-hour morning block and online destination. The energetic and inquisitive Sid starts each episode with a new question (“Why are my shoes shrinking?” “Why do bananas get mushy?”) and embarks on a fun-filled day of finding answers with the help of family and friends. BRIAN HENSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BIOGRAPHY Brian Henson is co-CEO of The Jim Henson Company and an award-winning director, producer, writer and performer. He serves as Executive Producer on SID THE SCIENCE KID, premiering September 1, 2008 on PBS KIDS®, and directed several episodes including the premiere. In recent years, Henson served as Executive Producer on the television projects "It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie," "Muppet Wizard of Oz," "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" (which he also directed) and "Jim Henson's Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story" (which he also co-wrote and directed). He also directed “Battleground,” an Emmy® Award- winning episode of the “Nightmares & Dreamscapes” anthology for TBS. Previous television projects that Henson produced include "Farscape," "Bear in the Big Blue House," "Gulliver's Travels," "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss," "Muppets Tonight" and "Dinosaurs." Henson's long list of film credits includes “Muppet Treasure Island,” “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “The Witches,” “Labyrinth” and “The Great Muppet Caper.” Henson is currently executive producing “Pajanimals,” a new preschool short-form series that will premiere on PBS KIDS Sprout in November and “The Skrumps,” an animated production featured exclusively at Yahoo! Kids. Henson oversees the groundbreaking work at Jim Henson's Creature Shop, one of Hollywood's pre-eminent character building, digital and physical visual effects facilities. Henson was part of the team that first created and utilized the Henson Performance Control System, a powerful custom-based interface for puppeteers, which won an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science Scientific and Engineering Award in 1992. Recently, he has been leading the Shop's work with its revolutionary technology, the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, a proprietary technology that allows a performer to puppeteer and voice digital characters in real time. HALLE STANFORD, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BIOGRAPHY As Senior Vice President of Children's Entertainment for The Jim Henson Company, Halle Stanford serves as executive producer for SID THE SCIENCE KID, premiering September 1, 2008 on PBS KIDS®. Stanford leads the company's development and production of all preschool and children's programming for television, direct-to-video and new media projects in both animated and live-action formats. Stanford began her career at The Jim Henson Company in 1995 and has developed and produced several well-known properties for the company since that time. In addition to her work on SID THE SCIENCE KID, she is also leading the development on "The Skrumps," a 3D animated project featuring the company's newest troupe of characters and currently seen exclusively at Yahoo! Kids. Her previous credits include executive producer for "Animal Jam," “Telling Stories with Tomie dePaola” and the successful franchise "Bear in the Big Blue House," the rights of which are now owned by The Walt Disney Company. Stanford is also executive producer of the upcoming animated series “Frances” and puppet musical series “Pajanimals,” both to debut on PBS KIDS Sprout later this year. Apart from her work at The Jim Henson Company, Stanford is the founder of 7 Crows Stories, a children’s creative company responsible for consulting on such upcoming projects as "Krypto" and "Baby Looney Toons," two animated preschool series for Warner Brothers Animation Studios, as well as executive producing the "Pat the Bunny" DVD series for Classic Media. Stanford holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film and Theater from Wesleyan University. BRADLEY ZWEIG, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND STORY EDITOR BIOGRAPHY A veteran writer for children's programming, Bradley Zweig has teamed up with The Jim Henson Company as Executive Producer and Story Editor for SID THE SCIENCE KID, premiering September 1, 2008 on PBS KIDS®. Zweig brings his comedy and science background as well as his extensive experience in television writing for preschool audiences to this exciting new series. His previous work with The Jim Henson Company includes serving as one of the writers for the 2003 series “Animal Jam.” Zweig has written and produced a number of television series for older kids and preschool audiences. Most recently, he was story editor and writer for Nickelodeon Jr.’s “Yo Gabba Gabba!” and a staff writer for the new Nickelodeon Jr. preschool series “Ni Hao Kai-lan!” His past credits include writing for Cartoon Network’s “Krypto the Superdog,” Disney Channel’s “Brandy and Mr. Whiskers” and Warner Brothers Animation’s “Tom and Jerry Tales.” He has also written for TLC, National Wildlife Productions, and National Geographic Kids Productions. In addition to his television work, Zweig helped revamp The Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus. In 2006, he wrote a storyline-driven circus, featuring interactive audience components and video segments. He recently completed writing his second Ringling Brothers circus, which is currently touring the U.S. through 2009. Zweig began his professional writing career at The Philadelphia Zoo, where he wrote and performed sketch comedy theater to explain wildlife science for the audiences. While in Philadelphia, he founded his own sketch comedy theater company based at the Please Touch Museum for Children in Philadelphia. During his tenure at Please Touch Museum for Children, he wrote and directed 17 original preschool interactive-comedy productions. Zweig later brought his “interactive style” of preschool comedy theater to Washington D.C., where he wrote and directed seven productions for The Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater.
