    Ryan Leach is a skateboarder who grew up in Los Angeles and Ventura County. Like Belinda Carlisle and Lorna Doom, he graduated from Newbury Park High School. Lead singer, guitarist, and figurehead Jeffrey Lee Pierce fits in easily with Tthe genius songwriting of Arthur Lee (Love), Chris Hillman (Byrds), and John Doe and Exene (X). Unfortunately, neither he nor his band achieved the notoriety of his fellow luminary Angelinos. From 1979 to 1996, Jeffrey manned the Gun Club ship through thick and mostly thin. Understandably, the initial Fire of Love and Miami lineup of Ward Dotson (guitar), Rob Ritter (bass), Jeffrey Lee Pierce (vocals/ guitar) and Terry Graham (drums) remains the most beloved; setting the spooky, blues-punk template for future Gun Club releases. At the time of its release, Fire of Love was heralded by East Coast critics as one of the best albums of 1981.

Blondie & Garbage: The Rage and Rapture Tour will perform for one night in Muriel Kauffman Theatre on Tuesday, July 18. Tickets for the show range from $79 to $149, and go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday, February 24. ABOUT BLONDIE Singer-songwriter Debbie Harry, guitarist and co-writer Chris Stein, powerhouse drummer Clem Burke and their band- mates in the punk/new wave band Blondie are undeniable pop icons, their sound and sensibility as fresh as when they first topped the charts in the late 1970s. Since their groundbreaking 1978 album Parallel Lines, the members of Blondie have always been a forward-thinking – and forward-moving – group. Alex Newell to Perform with Boston Gay Men’s Chorus Courtesy of Boston Gay Men’s Chorus Just in time for Pride, Boston Gay Men’s Chorus will perform “Can’t Stop the Beat,” the biggest production in its 32-year history, on June 12, 13, and 15 at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. The concerts feature Alex Newell who stars as the show-stopping transgender teen Wade “Unique” Adams on FOX’s hit series Glee. Newell will also share the stage with the Chorus June 7 in his hometown of Lynn for a special Outreach Concert at Lynn Auditorium, part of the Chorus’s mission of community engagement.
