I would REALLY REALLY like to hear more news from clubs around the country. What you are running on club-nights, Things like - local events you ran, what was different, good, interesting about them. - And pictures are a really important part of this. I see some interesting pics from G.C. and Canterbury on F.B. but not the back-story, and very little from around the groups I know are meeting regularly. We'd love to share your stuff to inspire others. And I know some guys are doing some interesting class builds and customs resin builds - because the parts just keep rolling out, often with "buying patterns" of what is being used by members in a particular club. So do share, we'd love to hear from you all.

If you're not seeing our regular Facebook Page updates, you may have an earlier link which no longer works due to changes in Facebook rules. This is the correct one. So be sure to add that address to your "liked pages" to have it show up in your Facebook "Pages Feed"

EVENTS NZ Proxy Group 5 Series Six rounds done and dusted, and Gas41T is R5 and R6 were sort of run in reverse order on really the guy to beat in his Capri the same track, so here are the standings.

1st to 4th in the latest round

Hawkes Bay Club Having completed our hosting of two rounds of the Group 5 proxy in September, as well as the Harmon Memorial, October activity included a fun mini Enduro at Thunder Road Raceway. Mac had tuned four Revell Lotus Cortinas up for a house class, and we ran these as a mini-enduro on club night.

Thunder Road, 95 feet, the venue for many fun events The finish was surprisingly close Q & A any motor but does cut down on your choices of gear This came up on a forum recently. As the poster wasn't ratio. clear in his initial request, the thread became a little Slot.it achieve the variation in numbers of teeth whilst convoluted, but the essential data as given by a member keeping to standard diameters by 'adjusting' the tooth with engineering background, made this a useful bit of form on each gear. discussion to summarise the thread and share here. Some mesh much better than others but all work pretty well. Q. I'm dabbling with a sidewinder configuration but I - Thanks to Mick Kerr and Phil Kalbfell for their need to make sure the motor and rear axle are in the contributions on this thread. right place relative to each other. Does anyone know (or have a car they can measure) this please? Q. I want to build a Slot-it Porsche from spare parts. I Also, does a normal chassis have a way to adjust this, or have motor pod CH13.Is Chassis SIC03T-aw and body do gears come as pairs to keep the motor to axle SICS17b compatible? and are they in stock? distance the same? A. Hi Peter, I could just tell you these things, but I would A. This is like asking he long is a piece of string! rather lead you through the process, so you can achieve As Tony said, it depends on whose gears you are going to the same outcome for yourself in other future cases. use. In my opinion I would use either Slot It 18 or 19mm Spur. So here are the steps: There are plenty of ratios to pick from. 1) Click the 4th link in the left column of our website - Assuming that you are using Slot.It gears you have a few "Slot.it Parts Guide" options as they make the following sizes; Pinions - 6.5mm and 5.5mm O.D. Spur Gears 19.0mm and 18.0mm O.D.

I always choose to match the 6.5mm pinion with the 18.0mm spur gear and the 5.5mm pinion with the 19.0mm spur gear. Both of these work well with a centre to centre distance of 11.3mm.

2) Scroll down to the Group C cars and click on the link for the Slot.it Porsche 962C KH which is the Slot.it model SICA17 [if you are unsure WHICH model Porsche for instance is the model for which you need parts, just cross check the product codes in the description for any current SICA17 model in the Slot.it cars list.] the image for this model is the TicTac Porsche

This will give you the biggest range of gear ratio options. Axle to motor clearance is okay for a normal Mabuchi S-Can at these centres. Or; Slot.It 6.5mm pinions and 19mm spur gears would be a direct replacement for; Scalextric, Fly and some others including the earliest versions of the Slot.It sidewinder pods. Use 11.8mm centre to centre measurement for these gears. 3) The pop up window that appears you will find a This option gives you plenty of clearance for the axle with complete list of parts to suit that body you have. And just to finish off this month. The HB club have just decided to change our V8 Supercars class, to allow lowering of these cars. Other changes are N22/F22 tyres, guide change, and weight is a allowed. Here's mine

4) For the chassis you will see it is actually CS09T-60 which is the correct chassis for that body kit.

Note: I prefix all Slot.it products on our site with their original " SI " letters, so chassis CS09T is coded SICA09t on my site. - That's how they started their coding way back, I've kept it that way for clarity.

So there you have the chassis product code and any others you need for building up the car. The chassis are in stock. They're still out of scale as they are made too narrow for the Motor pod (SI) CH13 is a defunct product item, but that height, but they look way nicer with the lower stance. pod would fit the chassis as the pod length, width and hole measurements have remained constant throughout the company range over time. I think that older style pod did not have the 0.5mm motor shaft to axle shaft 'offset' of the current pods, so you MAY prefer to use 15.8mm wheels (PA17) not 16.5mm wheels (PA43) as fitted to the newer cars, to keep the ride height as low as possible.
