Supplementary Regulations

1. JURISDICTION

These events are Clubsport Advanced Hill climb’s promoted by the Car Club Inc. and comprise the sealed and gravel sections and are the 2nd Qualifying Rounds of the 2018/2019 Goldstar Hillclimb Championship. Port Waikato-Wakaretu Road on Sunday is a part of the Interclub Hill climb Series.

The events will be held under these Supplementary Regulations, Championship Articles governing the Motorsport NZ Hill climb Championship, the current National Sporting Code of Motorsport NZ and its relevant Appendices and Schedules particularly Appendix Five, Schedule C.

They are open to all members of Motorsport NZ Affiliated Clubs.

4. THE EVENT

Day 1 – Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road, Port Waikato, Sealed Event. Approximately 3.7km of tarmac road. HQ – Woolsheds. Preferred Competitor access:

 Travel to .  From Tuakau town centre, head south onto George Street, continue onto River Road.  Cross Tuakau bridge and turn right onto Tuakau Bridge-Port Waikato Road.  Continue for 24km through Port Waikato township and onto Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road.

Day 2 - Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road, Port Waikato, Gravel Event. Approximately 2.7km of gravel road. HQ – Airstrip/Control. Preferred Competitor access:

 Travel to Tuakau.  From Tuakau town centre, head south onto George Street, continue onto River Road.

 Cross Tuakau bridge and turn right onto Tuakau Bridge-Port Waikato Road.  Continue for 24km through Port Waikato township and onto Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road for approximately 13.1kms.

Each competitor will be permitted one practice run and three timed runs.

If due to Force Majeure, the required number of runs cannot be completed the appointed MotorSport NZ Stewards, after consultation with the Clerk of the Course, has the authority to approve the reduction of the minimum requirements. In the event of timing equipment failure, or as a result of instruction from the Clerk of the Course, a competitor will be allowed a re-run. Re runs will not be allowed if the timing gear is displaced or damaged by the competitor. The use of stage or pace notes will not be permitted at either event, this is so competitors who cannot take passengers are not disadvantaged.

Pre event reconnaissance is prohibited.

5. ENTRIES

Entry should be made through the Motorsport Online system possum.motorsport.org.nz Entry can also be submitted via www.pukekohecarclub.co.nz. To be deemed valid, entries must be complete and accompanied by the appropriate fees. Any entry will not be deemed valid until payment is received in full. Acceptance will be at the organising committee’s discretion.

The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry in accordance with the prescribed provisions of the MotorSport NZ National Sporting Code.

Entries close 5:00pm Wednesday 7th November, late entries will be accepted up until 8.30am on Saturday 10th November and 8.30am on Sunday 11th November with the appropriate late entry fee. A maximum field of 50 cars will be accepted in order of receipt with preference being given to registered championship entries.

6. ENTRY FEE

Both Events $ 200.00 Saturday – Port Waikato $ 110.00 Preferred method of payment is Direct Credit. Sunday – Port Waikato $ 110.00 No credit card facilities available. Late entry $ 250.00 Entry fee must accompany all entries.

7. ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is available Sat 11th Nov on site with a limit on numbers. Bookings are essential and must be submitted using the correct forms found on the PCC website. Bookings must be emailed to the secretary well in advance of the event.

Option 1 - Limestone accommodation, cnr Port Waikato-Waikaretu Rd offers rooms with different bedding configuration choices, two kitchens and several showers available from $20 p/p. Own linen required. Option 2 - Shearer’s quarters, end of Limestone Downs Rd offers rooms with a simpler means of accommodation, kitchen, washroom $10 p/p. Own linen and bed required.

Tents/caravans also welcome for $10 p/n.

8. DOCUMENTATION & SCRUITINEERING

Saturday Documentation/Scrutineering will be located at the Sunset Farms woolshed after the finish line on Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road approximately 4.5km from Port Waikato School Camp between 8:00am - 9:00am. The pits are located in the same area.

Sundays Documentation/Scrutineering will be located at the Limestone Downs woolshed at the end of limestone downs road between 8:00am - 9:00am. The pits will be at the bottom of the hill by the start line. We request trailers be left in the paddock by the woolshed to enable sufficient space in the service park.

Organisers may reserve the right to impose a penalty on competitors late to documentation and/or scrutineering, at the discretion of the CoC.

9. COMPETITOR REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Understandings: In signing the entry forms competitors (Entrant and Drivers) are deemed to fully understand the Motorsport NZ National Sporting Code and its relevant Appendices and Schedules. Particularly,

(a) The National Sporting Code articles pertaining to protests and competitors obligations, and (b) The Motorsport NZ Hillclimb Championship Portfolio, and (c) Appendix Five Schedule C

No Driver who is entered in the 2018-19 MotorSport NZ Hillclimb Championship is permitted to be a passenger in any competing car during the event.

Passengers must wear safety apparel in accordance with Sch A.

License Requirements: All drivers shall hold an M Grade or higher Motorsport NZ issued Competition License. If the Entrant is other than the driver, an Entrants License in the name of the Entrant is required. All competitors shall wear safety apparel in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A. Passengers may be carried in vehicles complying with Appendix 5, Schedule C, Part 1, of the current MSNZ Manual and must sign the passenger indemnity form at the start line. The minimum age of any passenger is 12 years. Passengers under the age of 16 must have a completed “Clubsport Event Under Age Indemnity and Consent Form” (MSNZ form CS010) or a MSNZ competition license stamped “Authorised Minor”. Form CS010 can be downloaded from the MSNZ website or will be available at the event but must be signed by the legal guardian.

DUAL DRIVERS will be allowed at the discretion of the Organising Committee and under instruction of the Clerk of Course.

DUAL ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED BUT WILL NOT FEATURE IN THE RESULTS

10. VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY

All vehicles shall comply with Appendix Two Schedule A of the Current Motorsport Manual unless stated otherwise in these supplementary regulations. In addition, those competitors registered for the Hill climb Championship shall respect the provisions of Article Two of the Portfolio. Competitors should be familiar with and adhere to the MSNZ Code of Practice – Fuel, which is available on the MSNZ website (www.motorsport.org.nz)

All cars must have a homologated safety rollcage compliant with Schedule A of the Current Motorsport Manual.

Classes: Vehicles will be divided into the following classes: Championship entries as per championship articles. Pukekohe Car Club members, non-championship and Interclub Hill climb competitors results will be recorded into the following classes for club points and Interclub Results.

(A) 0 - 1300cc (B) 1301 - 1600cc (C) 1601 - 2000cc (D) 2001 and over (E) All 4WD Cars

11. EVENT PROGRAMME

Drivers Briefing – 9.30am at Control at each venue. Drivers briefing is compulsory and a penalty will be applied for non-attendance. A Reconnaissance run will be held at 10am - this will be confirmed at Drivers Briefing. Practice run and subsequent runs immediately following drivers briefing. Cars to run in numerical order.

12. TIMING

Timing is Rally start and beam finish. Times will be available at control as soon as physically possible, after each run. 13. PRIZEGIVING/FINAL RESULTS

Final results will be posted at the Prize giving function. Prize giving for Port Rd on Saturday will follow the final run as soon as practically possible at the Woolsheds. Prize giving for Port Rd on Sunday will be held at the cattleyard woolshed and will follow the final run as soon as practically possible.

14. GENERAL

NO animals are allowed at these venues. Food and Drinks will be available at each venue. All servicing must be done in the designated areas. Ground sheets to be used. All drivers will be liable for any damage that they cause to private or public property. Please collect all rubbish at the end of the event in the interest of good Motorsport public relations. Refunds will be at the organiser’s discretion. No refunds will be considered after the start of the reconnaissance run. Any driver withdrawing from the event must notify Clerk of Course or face exclusion from the results. Reconnaissance or practice of the course is prohibited prior to the event.

COMPETITORS AND THEIR SUPPORT CREWS MUST NOT CONSUME OR DISPLAY ANY ALCOHOL OR DRUGS DURING THE EVENT – FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THIS WILL RESULT IN EXCLUSION FROM THE EVENT.
