CoreCell-M Multi- Access Technology

Tecore Networks CoreCell-M delivers the flexibility to leverage a common hardware package across all generations of wireless with the added benefit of integrated multi-radio access technology (Multi-RAT) support including , , and . The unique design and operation of the CoreCell-M supports the delivery of the multiple generations of wireless within the same band. Compliant with the Band Categories BC1, BC2, and BC3 as defined in 3GPP (as well as custom combinations), the CoreCell-M along with the complete family of CoreCell-RH Remote Radio Heads is a comprehensive foundation for the support of network requirements across multiple generations of wireless.

Building on Tecore’s patented approach to building multi-technology core network systems, the methodology and design of Multi-RAT follows a similar strategy. The CoreCell-M incorporates a foundation of x86 based processing combined with a full family of remote radio head technology that delivers the options in scalability, flexibility, and adaptability required. Available as an integrated base station system or as a BBU/RRH architecture connected over eCPRI, the scope of supported options addresses deployment configurations from in-building up to country wider networks.

Additionally with CoreCell-M MRAT support, operators are now able to reconfigure and reallocate processing resources to match network requirements. By shifting resources away from legacy technologies and into next generation deployments over time it provides a soft landing for sun-setting technologies and avoids the issues presented with a flash cut. The redeployment of spectrum resources can transition from 2G and 3G support to expanding LTE channel bandwidth and also support future deployments of 5G and NB-IoT. Rather than traditional forklift upgrades, this change can be accomplished through modified network configuration and upgrades.

With an impressive footprint, the CoreCell-M’s weight ranges from 2.7 to 52 pounds, including the uncompromising support of a rugged IP67 shell. The CoreCell-M is capable of delivering high-speed network access to provide vital information and extensive support for a variety of network requirements. By maximizing performance, Tecore has minimized tower loads and deployment time to meet strict operational requirements.

Frequency Support and Compliance

The CoreCell-M provides support for all 3GPP specified bands in both TDD and FDD technologies. If required for the scope of the network, additional bands can be customized into the end-to-end solution. This wide range of frequency capabilities includes custom and unlicensed bands, allowing for easy deployments worldwide for a variety of applications.

Performance

The CoreCell-M is offered in four different power variants ranging from 0.5 to 40 watts. The number of sites and overall system size typically required for similar networks is vastly due to the high-power output and extremely small form factor. In turn, this reduces overall system cost (CAPEX), as well as site acquisition, installation and maintenance costs, and network efficiency, which help maximize return on investment for operators.
