Where the road forks into two, take walk the left hand alternative. • This is Low Lane, which follows the river Swale for 1½ miles until it meets another, wider road. • Turn left here and continue along this road passing Scabba Wath Bridge. After a further ½ miles, look out for a bridleway signpost to the left. • Leave the road here and follow the bridleway close to the river. After around a mile, the route bears slightly right across a field bringing you to a path junction. • Turn left here and cross the River Swale on a foot- bridge. On the other side follow the rightward path, across a couple of fields, to another bridge over a minor stream. • Bear left, ascending up the enclosed path and follow it where it turns right. This leads into the edge of Reeth. • Take the second lane on the left to reach the centre of the village, where there are public toilets, a National Park Centre, bus stop and parking as well as café’s pubs, and shops. www.yorkshiredales.org.uk .
