Please use these extra 10 minutes to ensure you have no technical issues prior to the start of the session. All sessions will broadcast directly from the “Session Broadcast” page on the CapCon website. You must use the email you registered with to login and access your sessions. Once you login, click the “Join Now” button to jump into your session. When you join the session, a new window will pop up that shows the Zoom icon. This is intentional and the session will stream through Zoom. The session will automatically start at the scheduled start time. ELECTED OFFICIALS ACADEMY CREDITS The Elected Officials Academy (EOA) is a four-level, voluntary, recognition program. Any League class that you take, conference that you attend, or committee that you serve on, earns you EOA credits. Earn 2 credits for attending CapCon. Enroll today at eoa.mml.org. ICMA CORE COMPETENCY CREDITS The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) offers a voluntary credentialing program to recognize professional local government managers and to promote lifelong learning. To assist managers who are considering or already participating in the program, the League will list one or more of ICMA’s 18 core competency (CC) areas for each of the CapCon sessions. If you are interested in finding out more about this, contact Summer Minnick, [email protected] or 800.653.2483. 10 11 BLOCKBUSTER SESSION SPEAKERS Georgia Dow, MA Psychotherapist, The Montreal Center for Anxiety & Depression Georgia Dow, MA, has over 20 years of experience in teaching and counseling. With degrees in psychology and education, a teaching degree, a master’s degree with distinction in art therapy as well as two-time Canadian Jujitsu Champion, she specializes in treating anxiety and stress management for both children and adults. Georgia hosts several podcasts dealing with technology and psychology, and hosts her own YouTube site on dealing with anxiety and social media. Bryan Barnett Mayor, Rochester Hills Bryan K. Barnett has served as Rochester Hills (MI) mayor for more than 14 years and is the longest serving mayor in the history of the city. At the time of his election, he was also the youngest mayor in the United States of a city with a population over 50,000. In 2015, Barnett won a historic third mayoral term as a write-in candidate, earning the largest write-in win in a general election in the history of the state of Michigan. In November 2019, he was re-elected to a fourth term, receiving an overwhelming majority of write-in votes once again. He previously served on the Rochester Hills City Council for six years. Mayor Barnett’s administration has received local, national, and international recognition
