Your l1agnificence, on 1st January 1974 tea chers, pupils and parents, together with the munici pality of Kaarst gave the name of "Albert-Einstein-Gymna sium" to the loca l school. This is the reason why I should like to come into contact with your univer- · sity, as I may suppose that your university has a strong feeling of liability for the cultivation of Einstein's heritage. Our local school is highly interested in a) inf orma tion about scientifiQ works dealing with Einstein, b) information about groups and associations spending a lot of time on the cultivation of Einstein's heritage, c) personal contacts of professors and students of your university with teachers and pupils of the "Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium". I should be glad if you had the same interests and could send me a favourable answer. I should like to give you the following inf ormation about our local "Albert Eins t ein-Gymnasium":
The school lies in the rapidly growing municipality of Kaarst with about 35.000 inhabitants situated in the middle between the l arge towns of DUsseldorf, Neuse, Krefeld and Monchen-Gladbach. Because of the parents of the pupils who primarily work in DUsseldorf (a distance of 12 kilometers), Kaarat i at closely associated with the capital of North-Rhine Westphalia. Kaarst ·is a merely residential municipality. Many of the boys and girls of our school were born in Dusseldorf.
The "Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium" was founded in 1966 axdhas 1452 schoolboys and schoolgirls at the present, who can gain their university qualification (leaving examination) in 9 years - after 13 scholastic years altogether. The Ministers of Culture in the Federal Republic of Western Germany decided on a reform of the upper classes some years ago. This reform is valid for our school, too. Ac cording to the name of our school a special emphasis is on the field of mathematics an the natural sciences, furthermore on t he f ield of languages (English, Latin, French and Russian) and sociology. I am still attempting to locate a photo or copy of a photo which shows Dr. Einstein and Dr. Oppenheimer together. The picture appeared in Life magazine in 1947 but we cannot obtain a copy of the photo from Life. They reguard us as competition.
Therefore, we are asking if additional copies of this picture are available from Advanced Study files.

Dear Sir: The French Network of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in MOntreal has produced laet year in cooperation with NASA, 32 television programs on the Space Age. This series aroused great interest among the public and particularly among the juvenile audience. Consequently our educational TV section is again working this season on a more extensive survey of the achievements of astronautics. Vie know from last year' a experience that the Space Age appeals to our young viewers through the actions of the pioneers of this era. We think that the best approach to this would be a personalised account made by the men who are deeply engaged in this challenging field. It is a story about a Russian mathematician lecturing in Princeton, and being discomfitted qy an exchange of formulae on the blackboard with Einstein, later explained by Einstein as: he said that it was like a cup and saucer in space, but it was like two cups and saucers in space. He was kind enough to invite me to Princeton to discuss them; an opportunity~ of which I was unable to avail myself. ~e onrush of war- later my domestic responsibilities pushed the project into the background. Now in later years~ I feel that I don't wish these thoughts to perish with me; as I .yself apparently can do nothing to perfect them. ~ese ideas involve the constz-uction of a Universal Propulsion Rotcr which will produce propulsion on land~ on sea~ in air, and in space, as it operates on the universal media of centrifUgal forces. A Ro»or of this type would exert a continous and unlimited acceler ation factor. I need not tell you ot the great significance, that a Rotor ot this type would have.
