MISSOURI GOV. MIKE PARSON Thursday, June 17, 2021 “What can I expect this week?” Missouri Gov. Mike Parson will deliver a keynote address at a special assembly Thursday evening in Hendricks Hall. Parson was sworn in as governor in June 2018 after being elected lieutenant governor in 2016. He was re-elected governor in 2020. Parson's first elected office was as Hickory County sheriff, where he served until being elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2004. Parson won re-election to the House in 2006 and 2008, and then he was elected to the Missouri state Senate in 2010. In the Senate, Parson served as the majority whip during the 96th General Assembly and won re-election in 2014. Parson is also a small business owner and a third-generation farmer who currently owns and operates a cow and calf operation near Bolivar. Parson was born in Wheatland.

MBS HALL OF FAMER HERB KOHN Friday, June 18, 2021 Missouri Boys State Hall of Fame inductee Herb Kohn will close the 2021 MBS session with a candid discus- sion of his family's escape from Nazi Germany, his experience emigrating to the United States and his lifelong commitment to democracy as a private citizen. Kohn is senior counsel at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Law Firm in Kansas City, where he practices corporate, business and banking law, concentrating in the areas of acqui- sitions, financial transactions, banking and public finance. Kohn earned his undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Michigan. Kohn attended MBS in 1955 and was elected lieutenant governor during the session.
