Areas of Interest: I finished my employment as General Manager at Cobar Shire Council and Secretary of the Cobar Water Board in late January 2016 to move to be with my Family in Lane Cove, Sydney. Since February I have been undertaking various consulting engineering and management projects throughout for the Institute Public Works Engineering Australasia, NSW Division, Blackadder and Associates, CT Management Group, Business Aspect (Data 3) and as the Principal Consultant Director for Gary Woodman Consulting and Project Management Pty Ltd.

My management, leadership and technical skills are evident through the quantity and range of projects and programs which I have dealt with on a day to day basis for many years. I am a highly experienced networker and this is helpful in obtaining the necessary information and expertise for most local government engineering and management projects.

During May and June 2016 in collaboration with the Office of Local Government I conducted on behalf of the Institute Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA), NSW Division a series of workshops on Special Schedule 7 Implementation. The workshops addressed the changes to Special Schedule 7 for 2015/2016 and gave participants the opportunity to discuss the issues surrounding consistency of information entered into the Schedule across the industry. I have been appointed as an Assessor in the Civil Engineering Discipline for RPEng for Professionals Australia.

Aspirations for Institute: I have been a member of both the IPWEA (NSW) Division Board and LGEA of NSW Committee of Management for the past 15 years and wish to continue contributing to the IPWEA (NSW) Division Board. In 2014, I was elected Vice President and have been a member of the Risk and Audit Committee during this time.

I have been able to ensure that both Organisations (IPWEA (NSW)/LGEA) where practicable have been able to work consistently together for the benefit of members of both Organisations. I enjoy contributing to the IPWEA (NSW) Board activities and discussions and believe that my contributions are positive, valuable and progressive. In 2016, I undertook the AICD Company Directors Course and this has proved valuable in helping to further progress matters in a professional manner at Board level. I believe that my experience will allow a worthwhile contribution to the new Board.

I request your support for my re-election to the IPWEA (NSW) Division Board.
