Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics is pleased to announce the featured athletes for this year's event: Rowdy Gaines, Allison Schmitt and Chloe Sutton.

The day will begin with several aquatics clinics oriented toward the local youth, masters, and triathlete club swimmers. This will be followed by a fun relay meet SNCA where you can swim with the featured athletes. We will have a BBQ lunch Mission Statement: available for all participants and spectators. Next on the schedule will be a "free swim day" for the general public from 1-4PM. Allison Schmitt to Attend 2013 Aquafest Event

SNCA Mission Statement:

Our mission is to promote, facilitate and coordinate the sustainability and expansion of aquatic resources within the Truckee Meadows.

In her Olympic debut at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Allison Schmitt won a bronze medal as a member of the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. Four years later, at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she won a total of five medals, three of them gold, in the 200-meter freestyle (in which she set a new Olympic record), in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay, and in the 4×100-meter medley relay (in which a new world record was set); and she also won a silver medal in the 400 meter freestyle, and a bronze medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay.

In total, Schmitt has won fourteen medals in major international competitions: nine gold, three silver, and two bronze spanning the Summer Olympics, the FINA World Championships, and the Pan Pacific Championships. She was also a four-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) national champion in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events during her collegiate swimming career at the University of Georgia.
