EMAIL:  [email protected] 24 HOUR SERVICE TO AIRPORTS POST OFFICE SERVICE: Ashcott Parish Council has been liaising with the Post Office regarding the provision of a mobile service visiting the village for 2-3 hours each week, possibly in the Village Hall committee room. Negotiations are at an early stage but it looks quite hopeful. Any feedback would be helpful so please feel free to contact the Parish Clerk or any member of the Parish Council with your views.

THE BATCH UPDATE: The post box at the old Post Office is to be removed and the Parish Council has requested that it be resited beside the noticeboard on The Batch and a decision is looking promising. A new seat has been installed in memory of Michael and Richard (formerly of Ashcott Post Office & Stores); this was donated by Michael's family. The new lime tree is growing well after regular watering during last year's hot summer to keep it alive and the troughs have been re- planted with summer bedding plants so that the centre of the village is looking good at the moment

ASHCOTT PARISH COUNCIL: After the elections in May we can confirm that the members of the Parish Councillors are Jenny Lawrence, Ian Bagg, Emma Smith, Rob Linham, Adrian Howe.

VACANCIES ON THE PARISH COUNCIL: We currently have 2 seats vacant on the Parish Council. If you would like to help provide a 'Parish voice' on such matters as planning applications and getting the best for Ashcott, then please do come to our next meeting and see what happens and if you would like to be considered for co-option onto the Council. Our next Meeting is on Monday 15th July at 7pm in the committee room of the Village Hall.
