Mar 15, 2019: The UK’s Department For Interntaion Development (DFID) has featured the Family Care Association (YFCA)’s stroies in their official Twitter page. The Humanitarian Impact Stroies of YFCA were produced during 2018 and 2019 to reflect the respective project activities of the DFID’s Comprehensive Integrated Response to Address Malnutrition (CIRAM) project in Al Dhale and Sa’adah.

Mar 17, 2019: YFCA team in Sa’adah has conducted groundwater pumping tests for two water wells in Dhahyan area, Majz district in Sa’adah governorate, Yemen. The tests trun to positive which will enable YFCA to provide the two wells with solar power systems and pumps. This activity is part of the UNICEF-funded Improving Comprehensive, Safe and Sufficient WASH services to 21 health faciliteis and surrounding catchment areas in 5 districts (Haydan, Munabih, Razeh, Ghamar and Majz) of Sa’adah.

Mar 20, 2019: YFCA team in Al Dhale has dispersed the first round of food assistance for the highly vulnerable population in Al . This activcity is part of the Provision of Emergency Food Assistance to the most vulnerable people in Wusab Assafil district of Dhamar governorate and Aldhale district of Al ) funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

Mar 28, 2019: YFCA team in Taiz carries on the hiring of clerks and warehouse assistants for Food Distribution Points (FDPs) in Maqbanah district, Taiz so the general food distribution can be launched as per the set timeline.

Mar/Apr 2019: YFCA has received a donation of mobility aids from the UK-based “Wheels To Heels”. YFCA team in Aden has successfully distributed the received wheelchairs, zimmer frame, commodes, walking stickes and blankets to couple of handicap-care local associations in Aden in coordination with the respective ministeries in the city. Some of these mobility aids were allocated, then transported, to Marib for imminent distribution.

Mar 2019: Ataq General Hospital in Ataq district, Shabwah governorate, Yemen has received medical equipment and medicines from YFCA through the YHF.

Apr 2019: The Communications team of YFCA has finalized the distribution of the employee ID cards to HQ and hub offices to ensure branding compatibility and employee pride. The cards were designed and printed in-house.

April 2019 Mar 28-29, 2019: YFCA has actively took part in the WHO’s preliminary review meeting of the Minimum Service Package (MSP) convened in the Les Pensieres Centre for Global Health, Annecy, France.

Mar 22, 2019: YFCA has observed the World Water Day of this year by printing self-explanatory wall posters for all YFCA’s hub offices across the country. YFCA is implementing couple of WASH projects to improve access to drinking water for the highly vulnerable population of Yemen.

World Water Day, on 22 March every year, is about focusing attention on the importance of water. This year’s theme, ‘Nature for Water’, explores nature- based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century.

Mar 24-28, 2019: As part of its corproate social responsibilities, YFCA has hosted in Sana’a a team of 4 members of the World Humanitarin Corps (WHC) , a grassroot local organization based in Aden, where the WHC team were inducted with full-package of humanitarian project management training set. YFCA management has arranged for the WHC to visit the YFCA’s Safe Motherhood Specialized Hosptial (SMSH) and also to meet with the YFCA’s team based in Sana’a for necessary coaching and mentoring.

Mar/Apr 2019: YFCA’s teams in both offices of Aden and Sa’adah packed up and got straight to their new bigger offices. To make the move possible in a record time, the teammates worked over weekend and helped with hands- ons; the move required lots of flexibility, coordinated teamwork and a great deal of exercise!
